Never have I ever like fish soup even if it's a good one, I am just not a fish soup person. Visiting this udon restaurant was generally because they serve udon and seeing the queue every single time I passed by. After dining in, I was impressed to tell I may come back only for their fish soup. I ordered their sliced snapper with soup udon and chicken wing stuffing dumpling. I ordered their sliced snapper with soup udon and chicken wing stuffing dumpling.
Sliced snapper was cooked beautifully. Soft and savoury. It absorbed all the soup making it incredibly savoury. Broth wasn't fishy at all, mild sweetness from the lean fish meat, barely see any oil floating. Udon was cooked just right, again absorbed all the soup. Every bite was exploding broth. It was delicious. Generous amount of side vegetables such as seaweed, wooden ear and cabbages were given. A very hearty bowl of udon.
Chicken wing dumplings were again cooked beautifully. Stuffed meat and chives filling, pairing with the chicken skin as wrapper, it had a rich flavour but different texture. Chicken skin wasn't soggy but kept its crisp. Even the portion seems small, it's just right as three will become too heavy.
Staff was sweet and friendly. They would thank every customer who waited for dining in, and this was a seldom scene I encountered in Hong Kong restaurants. Thumb up for their gratefulness. Staff was efficient on orders, serving food and greeting customers.
It was a decent service with a surprising dining experience. Well done!
P.s their menu serves variety options that may take some time to decide! All were pretty appetising!!!
