This place is perpetually full. I chanced upon this place walking around the area and seeing that there were a couple of tables free, went straight in to grab a seat. I ordered the Spicy Tofu and Seafood Soup ($72), my staple, and the banchan quickly followed. It was a simple trifecta of kimchi, marinated big bean sprouts, and green beans. I'm not sure if I was hungry, but when I tasted these, they were all packed full of flavour. I especially enjoyed the bean sprouts, which were crunchy and each bite was bursting with umami.
The soup arrived some time after. Unfortunately, it was not bubbling away as expected, but it was still very hot. The egg was already partially poached through which meant that it took a while for it to reach me from the kitchen. However, it still tasted great - there was a good amount of gochugaru (red chilli flakes) floating around giving it a kick, and the soup base was intensely flavoured. Each bite was exciting; I started sweating from the heat and I didn't care. It was deliciously addictive.
Even the rice was delicious, the grains perfectly cooked and slightly sticky just like it's supposed to.
As tables cleared, more people came in to fill them. I can understand why, this place serves awesome, authentic Korean food.
