I am a huge fan of spicy Sichuan food in general, and was absolutely thrilled to find this restaurant. It's a chain in HK, I think, although each of their branches specialize in a different thing. This particular restaurant specializes in spicy crayfish and spicy stir-fry (meaning you pick separate ingredients to put in the stir-fry and they fry it up for you in one giant steamy wok of spicy goodness). I loved everything we ordered. The spicy sour soup is utterly out of this world--completely head and shoulders above any other spicy sour soup I've ever had in the US and in HK/China, not just from superior ingredients (they use a lot of seafood) but also from the way the subtle flavors of the fresh seafood and the strong spiciness of the peppers and vinegar all come together in a piping hot, joyous dance of flavors that makes one want to weep for sheer joy. The spicy stir-fry with bespoke ingredients were kind of like a dry hot-pot, and I particularly loved the chicken soft bone, the black fungus and the fresh tofu skin, which all effectively soaked up the spicy oil and sauces at the bottom of the bowl, enough to make my nose run and my taste buds cry with joy.
We ended up having to take a lot of leftovers home, which meant we enjoyed this meal for two, three days after our visit... possibly one of the more memorable meals I've had in HK in quite a while.
