A long time ago, there was a very famous dessert shop called 聰嫂星級甜品 Cong Sao Star Dessert. It was always popular and we went there often. Our favorite was the longan sorbet with nata de coco. But financial things happened and the entire chain closed. That is when we discovered they reopened as a vegetarian restaurant in Tseung Kwan O! Menu is in English and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge. They sold their famous desserts!
But other than that, they also served vegetarian dishes.
They had a dinner set menu. This is in Chinese only. It includes a soup or drink, main, rice and daily dessert.
Boyfriend wanted their infamous longon sorbet with nata de coco ($35). It was still the same delicious sweet icy goodness with firm bits of longon to chew on.
I wanted dinner so had the dinner set. I chose the vegetarian char siu ($68). It was too hot for soup so I decided on a drink. But the soup did look good from what others were served. The plate of char siu was huge! It was enough for boyfriend and I to share. It was really good. Crispy with a nice bit of char. The sauce was sweet and savory. There was also some vegetables on the bottom.
The daily dessert was red bean soup. This was ok. Not too sweet but as it was part of the meal, it was alright.
Quite a good deal for the dinner set. You do get a generous portion and the food tasted delicious. Service is fast so you are finished quite quickly. Will definitely be back for not just dessert.
