Being made in and delivered from Japan, when we bought it, it was frozen and it had to be defrosted for an hour before serving. It was really hard to imagine such a roll cake could be frozen like this. The roll cake tasted absolutely normal like it had never been frozen before! The cream was very smooth yet like ice-cream! There was a very thin layer of azuki between the matcha roll cake and the matcha cream, although the flavour of azuki was basically masked by the matcha! The whole roll cake tasted absolutely rich in matcha. Overall, it was really a very special roll cake. However, the cost of $290 each was really too expensive. Good to try it once and for all.
