As I have heard before that HMV has crossover with The Coffee Academics to open a cafe. Coffee & music has an inseparable relationship. So, it makes perfect sense they open a cafe together.I have lunch with family & relatives around Central last weekend to celebrate my birthday. After the gathering, I went to check out the HMV Kafe nearby. The Central branch is located inside the Entertainment Building.A big ads showing HMV Kafe is located on 3/F. The classic HMV logo of a dog appears on the ads
I have lunch with family & relatives around Central last weekend to celebrate my birthday. After the gathering, I went to check out the HMV Kafe nearby. The Central branch is located inside the Entertainment Building. A big ads showing HMV Kafe is located on 3/F. The classic HMV logo of a dog appears on the ads. The logo of HMV is a dog & the logo of the HMV Kafe is a dog holding a cup of coffee!!! So cute! After going up the escalator, the cafe is located on the right side in HMV. There are some indoor seats around the cafe. The cakes & sandwich are placed in front of the cashier. Customers can clearly can the baristas working & making coffee with the machines & the coffee equipments. The door on the right side of the cafe leads to the outdoor area. Since it's winter, seems no one is sitting outside. All the cakes & the sandwiches were really tempting, but I ate a really full birthday lunch with family & relatives. So I just ordered a cup of coffee.
They have a really special section on the menu that drink are inspired by music! Jazz is the first drink on the list, which was inspired by La Vie En Rose by Louis Armstrong. Everyone should listen this song! Such a beautiful song! Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IJzYAda1wA The cup of coffee was served on a sliver plate, a spoon & a small glass of water.
The coffee was decorated with some beautiful purple pink rose petals on some cream. It looked really elegant & classic just like the song of La Vie En Rose! Since HMV crossover with The Coffee Academics to open this cafe shop, so of course there is the name of The Coffee Academics on the coffee cup. La Vie En Rose....so obviously this coffee should be in rose flavored. The taste of this coffee was a bit too sweet for my liking. The rose flavor was pretty strong & the cream was in vanilla flavor. So rose & vanilla together will definitely be sweet. Of course I can still taste the flavor of the espresso, but this drink was kind of more about the rose & vanilla! Luckily, the waitress served the coffee together with the small glass of water. So I can wash off the excessive sweetness in my mouth.
This coffee itself matchs perfectly with the name "Jazz" & the song "La Vie En Rose", but just a bit too sweet to me in term of taste. I think I'll try out their other drink or the food in the future. Nonetheless, the environment is really nice, leisure & cozy with the music around!
