After being a gong nui for a day, we decided to go for the ultimate kong girl activity — high tea! Opting between Peninsula and Intercon, we went for the latter coz the queue was more manageable. The jam was fine and my friend liked the clotted cream a lot.
Overall speaking, don’t expect the food to be tasty. It’s an Instagrammble and experience to brag about rather than a truly enjoyable tasty afternoon tea set. It’s nothing quintessential when compared to the Ritz-Carlton and Fortnum and Mason experience in London. Inauthentic and pricy.
The desserts are far better than the savoury bites. One of which is the duck fois gras cake wrapped with strawberry jelly and my friend described as the taste of her dog’s breath. This was hilarious but also somehow sunmarised how weirdly the savoury items tasted.
But the service was great as my friend left her bag in the lounge and they have kindly kept it for her. The environment and the service are what you pay for but definitely not the food.

You will also have a bag of poorly packaged repetto perfume along with a coupon card, which is a bit necessary and not environmentally-friendly. As one could scan the QR code on the tea set already, why wrap it with this aesthetically unpleasing bag and leave the card with the same content in it?
But the perfume sample was great so on a positive note, Repetto might have just earned another customer!
