The Youth Square is the newest and also the most beautiful building in Chai Wan. It gives a magnificant and high-tech outlook. Government is spending so much resources on 'youth'. There should be some eateries in this Youth Square. The first one to open is this shanghainese/pekingnese restaurant.

We came for a afternoon tea on Sunday. Its poster said there is afternoon tea session from 2 to 4:30pm. However, when we settled-in, there was only full priced items, listed in two coloured sheets (one is greeen and another is pink). The main difference is the pink one contains those dim-sum/noodles type food, while the green sheet contains those main dishes. These two sheets of paper are the menu!! We were surprised 'cos when we entered this restaurant, it is so spacious and we could dare to say that it is the restaurant with best seating in Chai Wan. Very spacious with very very high ceiling.

However, the restaurant seems not yet organised.

We ordered a 'Dam dam' noodle $25, a red bean paste fried pancake ($16), some 'wo-tip' ($!5 for 3 pcs), a green onion cake ($15) and a red oil dumpling ($16). The dam dam noodiles was quite nice, the soup base and sauce was rich and the noodles were quite chewy. This was not too bad.

The red bean paste fried pancake was just okay. The red bean paste was not sweet enough and also seemed that there was insufficient fillings in the pancake, so did not give a rich flavour. This one not recommended.

The wo-tips were okay. The meat inside was not too oily and also i knew that they were freshly made and fried from raw to cooked. WE could have some of the 'soup' inside the meat.

The green onion cake was also soso, The reason was 'cos it didnt have enough green onion. What's a surprise!!

The red oil dumpling did not look appealing 'cos the dumpling looked rather too small. However, its taste was quite okay, but of course dont expect it is same delicious as the Jade's.

Service-wise, the waiters seem very green..............many of them are NECs, really wonder if they could communicate with the peoples of Chai Wan. While others are many youngsters, somehow rather green in servicing industry. Sure there is many rooms for improvement in this restaurant. At least, it should have a proper menu and also it would be better than they have more set menu...........as sooner or later, it will lose its freshness in the area and eventually be forgotten.
