主菜選了一個美國安格斯肉眼扒,我諗塊應該係加大版嘅牛扒囉,連我呢個牛魔王見到都頭都暈埋!大到我諗要兩個女仔一齊share先食得晒,選了medium,牛味香濃,簡單咁樣煎個兩邊就令到肉汁可以留很牛扒內。

另外一個主菜我哋就選咗煎都化坊利,其實都化方利就係法國正式左口魚,坊間有好多餐廳都會用普通中國入口嘅左口魚來做呢一個菜,但係ausone講明所有嘅方利都係用正式法國歺用的品種架!

唔知點解近年開始越來越多人覺得一啲西餐係要整得好刁鑽或者很烹調上邊要考好多功夫,但係其實好嘅食材只係需要得好簡單嘅烹調方法,已經係可以得出到食材嘅美味!呢度嘅嘢食其實全部都比較簡單,但係就係因為簡單我哋先可以食到好嘅食材嘅原味。
另外呢度令到我覺得好有驚喜,最驚喜嘅大老闆真係十分之好人啦,一坐低就已經同我地講東講西,老闆年紀唔係好細架啦!但係呢佢講嘢又好生鬼,會願意同我地分享佢多年來嘅心得,可能會侍應同老闆嘅衣着其實都好輕鬆感覺唔係好正式嘅法國大餐,但其實仔因為呢一種輕鬆先可以令到呢一餐飯食得更加開懷架嘛!

主菜先嚐燒西班牙伊比利黑豚豬柳,相比其他主菜如牛扒、羊架及魚塊等,豬柳份量較細小。輕輕切開豬柳,肉色呈微微粉紅,剛熟剛好,口感鬆軟,肉香亦算不錯。另一主菜美國安格斯肉眼扒,出品很大塊,約五六成熟度,切開有肉汁溢出。話雖如此,肉眼口感沒預期般軟腍,並帶點韌,幸而還在可接受範圍。牛味方面,肉眼部分應較濃香,出品味道亦恰如其分,整體算上中等質素吧!

甜品薑汁焗疏乎里,疏乎里焗起賣相都算企身脹滿,但質感較預期更為低密度,入口似風溶掉,薑汁給力亦不算特別明顯。另一甜品法式燉蛋,燉蛋滑度不足,有點實,而蛋香則OK。或許甜品出菜前已閒置一段時間,甜品食感亦帶㸃過氣。

Food: good quality with fair price
5 courses but only $298
Tried 3 courses with same price in TST but the quality is not that good
1) Wild mushroom soup. Sure is not canned soup coz I can taste the mushroom with herb. Perfect match with the bread
2) Snail w/ wild mushroom and mashed potatoes: Snail is big and taste is good. Not too oily and salty
3) Oyster Risotto: Oyster is big and fresh! 
4) Fresh fruit Napoleon: fruit is fresh and sweet. Several layers of fruit in this dessert
5) Tea: though it is just tea big. Surprise that they still got several options for tea: English breakfast, mint, chamomile etc 
It's also a nice place for wine lover. No corkage. We bring 3 bottles of wine. Staff not only open the wine for you but also give you the suitable wine glass without asking.
Restaurant owner is so nice and sociable. We can talk about French food and wine.
It's a quite place to chitchat with friend and enjoy wine. Highly recommended to friend

         但只可以食面的一層, 中間完全唔掂, 好似未焗好, 仲係一"pat"嘢咁

友人從外國回港探親,相約XO仔一家三口去跑馬地食西餐,餐廳名為Ausone。嗜杯中物o既大肥爸爸一聽到餐廳個名已經有好大反應!佢解釋,法國Saint-Émilion只有四間酒莊獲得Premier Grand Cru Classé A,而Château Ausone就係其中一家,所以佢一聽個餐廳名已經可以肯定餐廳老闆係愛好紅酒之人,而且餐廳一定係食法國菜 。跑馬地交通成日都咁擠塞,小肥好耐冇入過去,今次重臨此區,感覺都幾陌生,因為好多曾經光顧過o既食肆都已經唔喺度。Ausone喺奕蔭街,即馬場對上一條街,離電車總站同巴士站都好近,落車後步行五分鐘內就到;如果怕塞車,由銅鑼灣或者灣仔行過去大約都係半個鐘頭左右;唯一係地鐡唔到。好在大肥一早訂咗位,仲指定要坐樓下,因為當晚全餐廳滿座 !Ausone地方比較細,燈光柔和,樓下有四張散枱之外,牆身有兩個酒架,仲有個水吧同廚房仔,櫈旁則擺放有多本時事、時裝等流行雜誌。眼見侍應們個個都做到團團轉,為免影響佢地,小弟並冇周圍參觀,只係留喺位中靜靜觀察 。哥仔們咁忙碌都能夠保持笑容,而且好有耐性地幫我地落單,推介食品,態度認真專業 !未到七點半,

野菌湯:熱辣辣o既野菌湯底為忌廉湯,意外地一啲都唔creamy,與此同時又一啲都唔稀,味道香濃得黎又唔溜,做得真係好好味

薑汁焗梳乎厘(+$15):梳乎厘不但外形吸引,口感更加係鬆化香軟,薑汁味濃,而且味道唔會太甜,小肥同媽咪食後十分鐘已經可以話比大家聽梳乎厘非常「驅風」

總結,Ausone地方雖然細,不過氣氛唔錯,我地坐高櫈亦一啲都唔辛苦,服務生勤奮友善,最重要係食材高質,菜式美味,而且價錢合理,我地一行四人都勁滿意

在食物方面,我們倆都認為整體食物質素不俗,唔會有將貨就價的感覺,份量亦非常大,絕對物超所值!
其中我最欣賞的是其主菜和咖啡。
本人點的是焗豬扒飯,飯是即叫即焗的,豬扒有咬口,再配上冬菇(?)一起焗,口味獨特。略嫌不足的是芝士不夠多及飯未夠入味。
母親叫的是原條方脷(sole),雖然不肯定是不是dover sole,但樂見兩面煎至金黃色,內裡的肉依然滑溜,火候控制一流,再配上旁邊附上略帶酸味的檸檬汁,把魚的鮮味推到另一個層次。

總括而言,我對Ausone 這餐廳是非常讚賞的。在這裡我吃得舒服又開心。儘管食物的味道和餐廳的裝修以至服務員的招呼雖然可能難以與頂級的美芝蓮餐廳媲美,但以此價錢來講,what more can you ask for? 最起碼,我個人非常尊重老闆放在食物上的心機以及以客為尊的敬業態度。

在Ausone 吃飯你不用像在酒店西餐廳吃得戰戰兢兢,生怕荷包大出血,又怕在一眾達官貴人食客面前失儀。

更重要的是,在這裡,我找到了一份人情味以及我最珍而重之的童年回憶。畢竟,兒時能吃到的風味,已經買少見少了。

看到飲食男女的介紹,今天特地開車到跑馬地試試 Ausone 的午餐。接近一時到達,下層已滿座,我們二人被安排到閣樓。看看餐牌,價錢不貴,午餐全介乎HK$68-128,包括沙律、湯、主菜、甜點、咖啡或茶。什菜沙律先上、然後是洋蔥湯和蒜泥包、我們有焗豬排飯和牛柳絲飯作主菜、甜品是水果,之後是咖啡和茶。沙律和湯一般貨色,洋蔥湯淡而無味,談不上什麼法式。我要的焗豬排飯,豬排硬實、飯沒味也沒飯香,我吃了一小半也就沒興趣再吃下去。同伴的牛柳絲飯,牛肉也不好吃,加上賣相不佳,也很倒胃口。之後的水果和咖啡也非佳作。看鄰桌吃剩一半的燒雞和隨著 Dover Sole而來的一陣腥味,想必味道好不到那裡。看價錢、看環境是可以的,但食物還有很大的改善空間;一餐下來,只可說是大路的港式西餐。

Other Info. : 新餐廳要留得住客人最重要是食材。如果真的好吃,我情願付較高價錢去買較佳的質量。濫竽充數只會流失客人。

Decided to try this restaurant after reading on Eat Drink Man Woman magazine.Made a reservation so no need to wait.Small restaurant, 3 to 4 tables on ground floor. Not sure what's on second floor.Some nice decoration and wine shelf. Decided to try this restaurant after reading on Eat Drink Man Woman magazine.

Made a reservation so no need to wait.

Small restaurant, 3 to 4 tables on ground floor. Not sure what's on second floor.

Some nice decoration and wine shelf. I think the owner is also there yesterday, he was saying these are wine he personally liked.

Menu is all set meal. 280 HKD + service charge, for a 4 course meal. Thought was good price for western food in Happy Valley.

First course was snail, tastey but food was not hot enough, feel warm on plate. Also my wife food didn't arrive till 10 minutes later. It's no excuse why they cannot serve at the same time.

Second course was soup. Long wait again. Wife had baked oyster soup (quite good). I had baked lobster soup (only so-so). Portion was abit small. Feels abit watery. Also they served soup with the big long serving spoon instead of the round soup spoon. 

Third course. I had rib-eye. quite tender, but food feels abit cold, and not enough beef taste. Wife had Dover Sole. This was actually quite tastey. And portions were big.

Dessert, I had creme bulee (not burnt enough) and wife had napoleon (not good). 

Service was okay and I can see they are making an effort. But this feels like a kindof chinese style western food. But if you ask me I like Sunning restaurant more for similar food.

Also they should turn the lights down to create a warmer atmosphere.
