星期日嘅buffet 先有炸脆球、任飲芒果乳酪Mango Lassi同青檸梳打。其實佢哋嘅咖喱係唔辣,都係就返香港人口味😋 今次佢哋冇咖喱角個同牛油雞,真係有少少失望😢

 
Panipuri – is a must street food in India. Crisp shell filled with moist onion, tomato and potato filling. A dish that awakes your taste bud with every bite. Recommend to eat immediately to retain the crisp.


Dosa – a thin crepe wrapped with curry potato filling. Recommend to add masala sauce to increase the flavour profile.


Garlic Naan – freshly baked filling the surrounding with a rich garlicy aroma. With slight hint of crispness adding a crunch, perhaps one of the best in Hong Kong.


The Shahi Murg Tikka chicken – was moist and flavourful whilst the Tandoori Fish Tikka was disappointedly on the dry side


Milagu Chicken Curry – moist chicken layered with a rich curry sauce that some may find overly salty.


Pindi Chole (V) – Rich and complex flavour profile, perfect pairing with Naan/ Rice


Kadhi Gosht – rich and thick sauce, an explosion of flavour with each mouthful. Sadly the lamb was dry and stringy.


Sunday special: Panipuri, Mango Lassi and Lime Soda available.

All starters were yummy, with chicken so tender and just cooked to perfection. The stuffed kachori was the highlight. In main course, there were many dishes including fish, chicken, paneer and of ourse the daal makhani. The garlic naan was soft and crispy at the same time. In the end, we were so stuffed but couldn't say no to so many delicious desserts like gajar ka halwa, gulab jamun, fruits and crispy jalebis. A complimentary drink was also given, you can get soft drinks, fresh lime sida or lassi. Had a great experience and would highly recommend this place for authentic Indian food..

The staff was extremely impolite and rude. We finished our lunch around 3:30 pm and the staff was rude enough to tell us to leave the restaurant and reminded us that we stayed for more than 30 minutes after finishing our food. I don’t have the name of the staff, he was tall and was at the reception counter.

Bombay Dreams is the first of Dining Concept's restaurants. It's been almost two years since our move to the might Kong and it was time I paid it a visit.

The husband insisted on an Indian meal after our drinks sesh and we found our way to Bombay Dreams, being in the 'hood.

After we placed our orders, they got us Indian amuse bouche - mini dahi vada bites. Prettily plated, very soft vadas. I thought I tasted a bit of oil in the vadas - the kind when the batter is a bit too airy and hence it absorbs more oil when being fried. The husband didn't and thought they were fine.

We ordered the aalu meetha aalu chaat - Indian street food version of sweet potato, potato topped with chutneys and the likes.

When it arrived, it didn't quite visually appeal. Bite-sized chunks that were probably boiled, then fried - per my husband. Given how dry and a tad bit undercooked they felt to me, I thought they were fried straight off.

It was topped with onions, tomatoes and a wee bit of cilantro. While the tamarind chutney tasted quite nice, ome green coriander chutney and sev would've added to it, but given how dry and underwhelming they were, I chose to speak up. The husband rarely does, but when I told him I would, he chose to do it himself.

The kind host / manager / server who took our order asked for our feedback on why we didn't like it. He later came to apologize and mentioned that it doesn't usually look like that and he thought it seemed dry too.

Next up were Amritsari kulcha - stuffed Indian style flatbread with onions, potatoes, coriander and Kashmiri chilli, paneer khatta pyaaz - cottage cheese cooked with tomatoes, ginger, garlic and pickled onions, and bhindi pyaaz masala - okra tossed with fresh green onions, tomatoes and ginger.

While I was happy with the kulcha, the husband found it under-seasoned. So was the butter roti that we ordered later.

Both the vegetable dishes were your average ones - both on the presentation and taste. Having eaten paneer dishes and bhindi masala plenty, I have high expectations from when I eat at restaurants. And they rarely keep up. Sadly for me, that was the case here as well.

They didn't cater on the looks for the husband either, but he enjoyed the taste on both of those.

A couple of other observations that I made this past Saturday evening while here. It was past 8:45, the place wasn't all packed, yet, when we asked a lady server for spoons, she placed both of them by the husband.

I, my placemat and my side of the table were as accessible to her as my husband's. Was she generous and gave two to the husband? Did she expect the husband to pass on the second one to me? Was she having a bad day? Whatever the reason was, it certainly wasn't good hospitality.

That's one Michelin bib gourmand recommendation disappointment!

Absolutely don't go for the dinner service. Took nearly an hour to get our food, they messed up the entire order, and we had to wait another hour to get our bill (we asked 5 times and they over charged us the first time so it had to be sent back). Food was good but not worth the bad experience.

The lunch buffet @ Bombay Dreams has a bit more variety than the buffets at some of the other Indian restaurants.The lunch buffet is pretty packed most of the time on weekends (and most weekdays too).... so if you go without booking in advance.... it would be at your own peril. The lunch buffet @ Bombay Dreams has a bit more variety than the buffets at some of the other Indian restaurants.

The lunch buffet is pretty packed most of the time on weekends (and most weekdays too).... so if you go without booking in advance.... it would be at your own peril
. Actually, we also went there without a booking (that too, for a Saturday lunch buffet).... and could NOT see a single table free

Luckily for us, after 5 mins a large table became free and we could be seated....phewww


The STANDOUTS for me were (Among STARTERS)
1) Seekh Kebab (lamb) - AN ABSOLUTE MUST-HAVE

2) Reshmi Kebab (Chicken) - a CLOSE SECOND after the lamb kebab

The STANDOUTS for me were (Among MAINS)

1) Fish Curry (Meen Curry) -
The flavor of the CURRY LEAVES is a bit dominant in this dish. So it has a unique taste/flavor.... better take a little bit first for tasting.... BEFORE GOING ALL IN


2) Paneer Curry (cottage cheese) -
Very rich and literally melts in your mouth. Can you feel FULL in just 1 serving (as for me.... I can still have this Curry more than once..... after years of experience
)

3) Corn, Spinach and cream curry -
Another of my favorites. Also quite rich and and has a similar “melt in your mouth” quality just like the paneer curry above..... totally different taste though

It was kinda hot there and I had to wipe the sweat from my brow a few times
(even while it was cold outside). Had to down THREE chilled beers
.
Definitely deserves a second look maybe after a couple of months.... when I might find some different dishes in the buffet (they keep doing some variations from time to time)

好在不恥下問 隔了一陣薄餅便來了

自助餐部份選擇不太多
主要是燒鷄, 雞masala,咖哩魚, 羊串,咖哩芝士,咖哩菜, 粟米飯及一個豆湯。

豆湯好味 微暖 有個小杯子比人盛湯用幾特別。
鷄及魚都勁有肉汁,非常惹味。
沙律就沒有添過 所以只見到盤底。
至於甜品有水果(唔甜)及2款印度甜品而已。

印度薄餅較薄 唔夠鬆軟有點失望
而有個粟米飯卻十分好味配咖哩一流

如果想帶印度客來食一個business lunch我會推薦黎度 (加埋一約180元一個人頭)。

食物亦唔見有refill要來食既話 最好係第一輪12點來食。一點多來到真係剩下既食物係唔多。

overall very good quality for the food they had serving. We loveddd the naan bread unlimited free naan bread for lunch buffet and a free drink. The options there was good , all quite heavy so not good for those on a diet. Haha. Downside is, there isn’t much option and classics. Tandori seabass is excellent. The Nizami Biryani is Indian rice cooked with vegetables in a pot, again is a dish We now always order.Restaurant ia always full of guests with different nationality, and ofcourse half of them are Indian. Frankly, no other place in HK serves as flavourful Food as Bombay Dreams. It’s full of flavours but isn’t hot or spicy, which makes everything palatable for Indians like me as well as for people from other countries. I have tried almost everything on the menu by now. Would recommend Chowk ki Tikki for starters and any non-creamy curry with Pudina parantha and Dal Makhni for main course. If you aren’t going for dal makhni, take a creamy curry.
