Feels like being ripped off. The price actually charged was much higher than what's on the menu. Should have informed us, bottom line. They recommended dishes not on the menu without giving the price and u ended up paying much higher. There are 2 choices for soups on the menu both for HK$110. Yet they recommended lobster soup without telling the price and we ended up paying HK$170 for that. Not worth a second visit.

This little gem is overpriced. With the price, we could have gone to a five star hotel for better food quality, better food presentation, better service and better environment. A piece of layer cake costs $128 which is not even mentioned on the menu. The menu states $68, I accept there is a price difference if it is mentioned to the customers prior serving it. I will not go to this place again with this price and integrity.

Amazing  dining experience (Highly Recommended!).
I have been to Brown No.6  for a total of 5 times in 2020, and have continuously recommended this restaurant to my friends and colleagues (several have gone and shared the same / better experiences than I have had).

The Chef and staff there really take time in understanding your taste and the dining experience that you are looking for and they do a very good job in adjusting and tailoring their service & food to your needs.

Despite having visited this restaurant several times, I find myself pleasantly surprised each time I visit - having my expectations exceeded.  The flavours have a lot of depth (Gravy especially) and in my opinion compete very strongly with the top-tier "Fine dining" restaurants in Hong Kong. 

If you are looking for:
- An intimate and relaxing dining experience, 
-Great tasting food ,
-Reasonably priced food,
I would strongly recommend trying Brown No.6.

Frankly it's a good restaurant with quality food offered, mostly imported from other countries. However, we specifically ordered 2 sets of "daily fish" which shall cost $290 per set (according to the menu) but eventually have been charged at $480 per set!! And I ordered dessert for 4 persons via phone to celebrate my mom's birthday. According to the menu, dessert shall cost $68 per person (daily cake topped with fresh cream or ice cream). Eventually have been charged at $580 for a birthday cake. What we have got that day was indeed 4 slices of cakes topped with ice cream. It was not a whole birthday cake but we have been charged for that without prior notice. For both "daily fish" & "dessert", we thought we shall be charged according to the menu instead of different price. We would expect the restaurant staff should "highlight" to us if there is any cost difference vs the menu. This is common sense and polite gesture, instead of throwing a surprise when we settle the bill. The overall experience may lead customers to consider the restaurant is dishonest on offering food prices that are different from the menu.

Even the food is great but with such experience, will definitely not visit again. Already feedback to the restaurant, which they admitted they did not tell us the price because that will be "impolite" to the customers. They don't think they have any responsibility or fault at all. Pls be cautious as don't want others to be cheated or fooled if choose to go there.

To Start things off- Ivan prepared smoked eel,  duck prosciutto, and white pearl oysters to go along with our wine that we brought.
Following is a simply prepared squid with garlic from Japan. (Nothing can beat French cuisine that uses Japanese ingredients)
The mushroom Bouchee a La Reine was a showstopper! I have a weak spot for puff pastry not to mention how much I am fond of mushrooms of all kind.
A refreshing salad with a drizzle of truffle oil was served to get us ready for the main courses. 
The French guinea fowl was baked to perfection. Instead of pairing it with gravy like the last time I had it, Ivan just served it as is with minimal herbs and lemon butter. The bird speaks for itself, tender and juicy meat with a delicious layer of skin. 
Just when I thought it can't get better, the Iberico pork ribs just about changed my whole perspective of BBQ ribs. A well-balanced of fat with the meat sliding off the bone effortlessly. 
The last dish of the night was also a real treat. Stewed wagyu beef cheeks which was so succulent and soft that I was barely chewing. 

What a delightful night with great company. 
Menu is ever changing and ingredients are very seasonal. I can't wait for my next visit and look forward to seeing the new menu!

We were seated immediately - Ivan (the chef) and his wife were great hosts. We got a full rundown of the menu, and decided to go with:

1. Smoked eel salad

5. Fish (sorry - I'm horrible with fish and forgot what kind)

The smoked eel was definitely unique - completely different from what you'd find elsewhere in both flavor and texture. Definitely give this a try, would have no hesitation to recommend.  The mushroom soup was also a standout, and this is coming from someone who does NOT like mushroom soup! Super delicious. 

Oysters were also large, and extremely fresh. If you're an oyster fan I'd also definitely recommend trying a few out.

Lamb rack and according to the mrs, the fish, both were also great, perfectly cooked, and flavorful.

Ivan flies in fresh ingredients from France weekly, and the quality really shines through here. 

If you find yourself in the neighborhood, I'd definitely advise giving this a try. Worth it even if you aren't in the area, actually!
