I wont bore you with my pitiful attempts at sounding like I know what I'm talking about. All of the beers were good, all of them.  Pilsners, wheat beers, blonde beers, red and black beers. Coedo make good beer, and some of it is punchy. The Beniaka red beer weighed in at an impressive 7%.  
Lets get in to the food on sticks. From front to back on the above picture. Lamb with cumin, pork with a spicy miso, beef tongue with chimichurri, Chinese mushrooms (though I suspect they would have been called Shitake given the provenance of the restaurant), chicken with leek and finally marinaded duck. Let's not waste time here, they all worked. The lamb was as you'd hope, tender, juicy and with that heady, earthy cumin flavour, spicy miso is a winner, beef tongue and chimichurri are great bedfellows and the duck was wonderful.  They may have been even better if I'd bothered to study which was paired to which instead of jumping in with all the grace of a starving hippo in a tutu. 
Happy with the choice of restaurant after the first leg, we went for a second round of stick food.

Eel. Not everyone's cup of tea (or indeed glass of beer), but I love it, and this, again hit the spot, great texture nice sticky glaze and above all, two sticks!

Next, the star of the show. Chicken livers. They seemed to have a very similar glaze to the duck we had earlier, which was no bad thing.  Juicy, metallic, sweet and tender. I could go on, but i'm dribbling over my keyboard. Simply wonderful. 
But storm clouds were on the horizon.

Okra with cheese, this is where we started to become unstuck. Okra, great, cheese, great. Okra and cheese....not so great. Okra was still on the rare side and the cheese looked and tasted like a cheese slice from the supermarket that had been attacked by a blowtorch wielding okra hater. It was just a bit odd and didn't fit with the quality that had gone before. Even the presence of an extra stick couldn't save it.

Sweet potato with brown sugar and butter. Oh good lord! You see that on a menu and it just begs to be ordered, so, gullible as we are, we did order it. It wasn't bad, but it would have been better if it had been a touch more charred and drenched in sauce instead of teased with it.

Last, and on this occasion, very much least, we ordered beer steamed clams. We both love clams, and as mentioned right at the start, beer is good, very good. So how you can put these two glorious things together and get such a bland, flavourless forgettable dish of nothingness is beyond me.  It tasted of water with a hint of onion and somehow even managed to blanche out any taste of clam too. What a mess. 
So, to sum up. Come for the beer, stay for the meat, stay away from the clams. 
Oh and for those of you thinking that skewers are a nice cheap dining experience, think again. This pile of sticks and empty beers glasses ran just north of $800.

Originally only found in selected stores that sell Japanese products and a few bars, they decided to open up their own taphouse in Causeway Bay's Fashion Walk. Offering a wide selection of their beers on tap, they also offer other brands as well that they call guest beers. For about $60 - 100 a glass, you can get a Coedo on tap. But here's a deal for you if you love beer.

Come at lunch. For if you order their lunch set, for an additonal $10, you get a small glass of beer.

Lunch includes a main, salad, dessert and drink. Upgrade to a small Coedo beer for $10. Prices for a set starts at $58. Food is mainly Japanese style.

Unagi and tofu donburi ($98) was my main of choice. Size portion was not big. In fact rather small. It's definitely ok for small eaters but for big eaters, I have no idea what they would do. It was ok. The eel was not overcooked. The mixture of tofu into the rice was fine though a bit on the wet side.

The dessert, however, was excellent. A matcha daifuku with a sweet azuki bean filling. There was also a soft warabi mochi lightly powdered with soybean powder and sweetened with black sugar syrup. This was delightful and i loved the dessert the most.

Lunch was average aside from the dessert which was excellent. Definitely come here for beer if you love beer ad looking for a deal. Because a small size usually costs around $60 so for $10, this is a steal.

同朋友諗住行到百德新,搵間舖Hea 下食下野,見裝修唔錯,氣氛幾好,門口有幾張枱都幾多人食,點知經職員帶位入裏面坐,入到去,都覺得似模似樣。打開Menu見到圖,野食賣相唔錯,即刻嗌自己心頭好。點知一個個驚喜就黎,第一碟就試下賣相唔錯既牛脷,嘩,同橡筋一樣。好彩服務員態度見到我地個樣都知咩事,就即刻同我地取消,之後再黎和牛,再黎驚喜,真係牛冇牛味! 唔緊要,我一舊舊同朋友死死氣吞左佢。點知,黎埋個虎蝦,老娘真係忍唔住! 竟然成條蝦既分秘物 連蝦身一齊煎,再放到我面前俾我食! 真係十萬個驚喜。 最終忍唔住反映左,不過叫有啲安慰係,服務還可以,唔係老娘真係。。。。。。。

Great weather to eat outdoors now weather is getting cooler. Yakitori on fashion walk with Japanese beer was our choice tonight.We had charcoaled chicken and egg rice, minced poem omelette, cheese okra, pork asparagus. Food was so so. The rice didn't have much egg on/in it. The idea of cheese on okra is not a good one, the texture is really gross and slimy. Pork asparagus was a bit too dry.Think they can't sell alcohol in the outdoors and have to give us beer in coffee mugs, which doesn't hurt,

Great weather to eat outdoors now weather is getting cooler. Yakitori on fashion walk with Japanese beer was our choice tonight.

We had charcoaled chicken and egg rice, minced poem omelette, cheese okra, pork asparagus. Food was so so. The rice didn't have much egg on/in it. The idea of cheese on okra is not a good one, the texture is really gross and slimy. Pork asparagus was a bit too dry.

Think they can't sell alcohol in the outdoors and have to give us beer in coffee mugs, which doesn't hurt, but only small size can be served in the outdoors.

Service, I feel like we were self servicing with the servers only putting down the stack of flatwares on the table then walked away. We took it that we have to take care of them ourselves. All well and good, but there goes your tips too, dear waiters.

有唔同味嘅啤酒,其中一兩款味道幾特別。海鮮丼刺身都算新鮮,不過飯太淋,好濕。玉子燒太咸又太"鞋",軟殼蟹炸粉太厚,不過都大件足料。叫左2款串燒:一口牛-juicy;雞翼-燒得唔錯,夠脆,但醃得唔夠入味,只係得表面有少許鹽。整體算不錯,服務好好,星期五食飯時間都冇趕客走,可以再去。
