This restaurant apparently prided itself on providing north Italian cuisine as the head chef is from Piedmont. We went to try out their lunch one weekday. On the day that I visited, it so happened that they were they showcasing some dishes from the Sardinia region. I opted for a three course meal priced at $388 (+ 10% service charge) (which included an Appetiser, Main & Dessert). As we booked under restaurant week, we got 30% off on food (as for 10% service charge, it would be based on the original menu price).
I ordered the following:
Rocket Salad, Parma Ham, Tomatoes, Parmesan, Balsamic Dressing - there were generous amounts of Parma ham which rang with strong umami flavour and which were balanced nicely with the Parmesan cheese and the freshness from the rocket salad.
Malloreddus with Sausage, Tomato, Fennel Seed, Pecorino - the pasta is typical of Sardinia with thin ribbed shells made with semolina flour which shape helped to scoop up the pasta sauce in every bite. The tomato sauce itself with the meat coming from the sausage and pecorino cheese had a richer depth than plain tomato sauce which was nice.
Tiramisu, Coffee Ice Cream, Zabaglione, Amaretti - a mixture of these Italian classics being put together in one dessert somehow seemed forced and lost their real identities and didn’t quite work for me unfortunately. Bit disappointed.
Have to say the servers were attentive and went out of their way to make sure we were seated comfortably and even helped to take pictures of us.
