I should have known that customer service was going to be bad when the three college-age type guys behind the counter didn't acknowledge me when I was the only person standing there. There are several other ice-cream choices at the Peak (Haagen Dazs, I See I See, McDonalds, etc) but my daughter really wanted one from Gino's Gelato. I supposed she was taken in by all the colorful flavors and looked so happy to select her flavor so I obliged. But boy, did I baulk at the price of HK$60 for one s
There are several other ice-cream choices at the Peak (Haagen Dazs, I See I See, McDonalds, etc) but my daughter really wanted one from Gino's Gelato. I supposed she was taken in by all the colorful flavors and looked so happy to select her flavor so I obliged. But boy, did I baulk at the price of HK$60 for one scoop!!
So of course, I was not pleased when my daughter's ice-cream rolled off because the waffle cone broke. These cones are made on premise. When the server first picked up the first waffle cone (these are made on premise), I asked him to get me another one that wasn't burnt!! So when I went back to tell Gino's that the ice-cream rolled off becausethe waffle cone was too brittle and broke off, he simply rolled off the ice-cream onto another cone! The ice cream fell on the ground!! When I reminded him about that, he threw the ice-cream in the garbage and put another scoop in the now dirtied cone. I told him that that was gross and asked for another one.
By this time, I got the big eye roll and he gave me half of what the original scoop was. On one hand, I should be happy that I didn't have to pay for another one. But at the same time, it broke because of a defective product so I didn'tfeel I should have had to pay anyways!
I guess these "kids" don't care because their business is catered to tourists who are one-time visitors. But if you do see this review, know that there are other ice-cream options at the Peak!!
