read the many good reviews at openrice and decide to give it a try. High tea is served from 3-5pm on weekends. When we arrived, no one was there and we had the whole place to ourselves. The decor is mainly in white, modern and chic. We had a table by the window side. The service had been excellent from the start. The waitress allowed us to choose the petite cakes from the display window. It was a happy process to choose from the various styles of colorful cakes. The waitor had been very nice and appear whenever we want her assistance. Nice and unpretentious.The high tea set were served on a special high tea rack, and the setting is very nice. Well actually i came because of this specially designed high tea rack We were hungry (had not had lunch yet) but the tea set is so abundant that, even my husband, as a big eater, said the portion is big. For the taste, I couldn't say its excellent, but still it's quite good.The tea set ($2xx for two) includes 2 drinks as well. We ordered Latte and Cappacino and both are good.We fooled around and took many pictures (as no other guests are there) and no one gave us a hard time. Had one fine afternoon. A hidden gem in central !Because of the white and chic decor, I think it's a good place for wedding parties too!

朋友話想試吓這間意大利菜的下午茶, 25日的high tea竟然只有兩枱的人, 可能沒有很多人知道這個地方吧.Tea set 價錢不貴, 糕點種類以甜的為多. 味道不過不失, 咖啡ok. 可能是店的裝修有點太光明, 沒有cosy的感覺, 商場又未裝修好. 所以未夠吸引.

Me and my friends went to try this restaurant on a Monday work night and the restaurant wasn't full at all, in fact, we and another table were the only patrons at Gvsto. The waitress was very attentive and obviously aimed to be fine dinning sort of service. We ordered below:Millefoglie di vegetable $180 - was so so, nothing spectacularSaffron Lingunine with clams $200 - Linguninne was aldente, but the clams were undercookedPizza 4 Stagioni $ 150 - was good, but hoped it could be more soupy style italian pizzaand for desert Panna rappresa $120 and Tiramisu $90Total bill comes to around $1287 (as we ordered Pinot Grigio 2006 $430)The overall experience wasn't that bad, given the great decor and lightings by philipe stark et. al but then when we got home, the whole table of my friends (includding me) got food poisonning...wasn't that great experience in this regard. Some friends asked me whether they refunded the dinner, of course they didn't la! It is now November - 2 months since I called their manager.... disappointed...To be fair, I think the chef put in alot of effort into this restaurant, I can see that they prepare each dish with passion. But I guess what hidders great talents can be sometimes blamed on poor management......

閏五月十五‧小暑搞了幾天,還是「神奇星期五」的餘波,想找個時間及地方,好好一談。在小Meg的力勸之下,還是選了這裡,因為一來地方就腳,二來就是新張的意大利菜館,鮮製意粉及手做pizza的,總有價值一選,就訂了檯,一行五人來吃一吃。這裡的環境很不錯,佈置簡單美觀。預留了靠窗的小圓檯,天然光自外面射進來,感覺很好。不知何解,總覺得意大利菜總要與陽光拉上關係。一時左右,朋友陸續來到。看餐牌,這裡的午市套餐分170及200兩個價錢,都包了前菜及甜品的自助餐,分別只是澱粉質及肉類的選擇。是日有點滯滯的,想吃得簡單一點,拿個a la carte餐牌來看,發現差不多所有單品價錢也高於170元的,所以還是乖乖的要套餐。五位朋友的五個選擇,分別是薄餅、千層麵、墨汁麵、紐紐粉及雜菜湯。先來的麵包籃,很豐富的,不過就只吃了當中的芝麻脆條。不算脆,但有芝麻香,但凍凍的,感覺麻麻。先去看看前菜自助餐,陣容也頗豐富,最喜歡加了橄欖油的雅枝竹沙律,另外魷魚沙律也新鮮彈牙,反而蛋批及火腿薄餅就很一般;薄餅是劉生的選擇,送上來是一開八的份量。選了最經典的選擇Margherita,餅底雖然是自家製的,但如餅乾般脆,沒有一點的煙韌口感,感覺一般。兩款餡料也不突出,五人分吃八片,到我走時,還剩下3片,就是這樣子;千層麵是Sally的選擇,Lasagne加上芝士及肉醬再焗香,也是相當穩陣的選擇;墨汁麵是CSY的選擇,是用上了切了小圈的魷魚去伴炒的,賣相也不錯。吃一口墨魚麵,相信是自家製的,但做得只一般,到走的時候,還有好好的一大碟放在那裡;Fanny選的是素食選擇,餐牌上寫的是貝殼粉conchiglie,但上檯送來的卻是用兩條義大利麵紐在一起的casareccia,很耐人尋味。吃起來卻沒有蔬菜的味道,只有芝士味。CSY還說吃到鯷魚的味道,真的被他嚇一嚇。最後是我的選擇,雜菜湯Minestra,味道是淡出鳥來,絕對幫你齋口之餘,齋埋個心!最後才去看看甜品有什麼好吃,只淺嚐了tiramisu及朱古力慕絲,俱不錯。侍應招味本不錯的,但吃下去卻發現他們收碟的速度奇慢,我們要碟疊碟的吃,有待改善。埋單200,小Meg,妳是對的,這裡真的不好吃。但不試,又怎知不好吃?不過就真的沒有再來的理由。想看足本食評及所有食物相片,請參考以下網誌:http://gourmetkc.blogspot.com/2009/07/gvsto.html
