This is a small Korean eatery along Ashley Road, with limited seating. I drop by to satisfy my Korean food cravings whenever I'm in the TST area The service is not really good and a bit brusque (HK style), but efficient enough.(1) Bibimbap $42 -- this is my favorite item on the menu and very well done. (1) Bibimbap $42 -- this is my favorite item on the menu and very well done. The serving is small-ish so great for ladies. Served in a scalding hot stone pot, there is rice (perfectly cooked and not soggy or hard), an array of Korean vegetables including beansprouts and shredded carrots (very well marinated, fresh and crunchy) and a choice of a meat, either beef, chicken, squid or spicy pork. The spicy pork mixes very well with the rice and is not overly salty, but very fragrant within tender slices of pork. A lot of restaurants could learn from how well the pork is done here as it is often overcooked in other restaurants! Note that the bibimbap doesn't come with egg as it does in some places.
(2) Spicy Korean rice cake ($32 or $36 - can't remember) -- this is good for a snack (too small for a meal) but VERY SPICY. One of my friends loves this and orders this every time although the super spiciness always gives her stomach upset afterwards The rice cake is tender and drenched in a spicy hot pepper paste, and comes with a hard boiled egg. The flavors are great but be prepared to drink boatloads of water during and after!!
Ban-chan (side dishes) come at $14 extra and there is a selection of hot and cold drinks for $9 extra.
Really super value for money, consistent quality and a great place to quickly satisfy your Korean food craving
