I have been dinning at IRORI for almost 10 years now. It used to be one of our favorite restaurants. Last week, I went there at 8pm and we were the only customers there. We ordered a 16-piece sushi. It looks at tastes "fishy" in the sense that it seems to be sitting in the refrigerator for 3 days. Few pieces even tasted sour.

Totally changed, totally disappointed.
We ordered beef as well. It tasted like beef jerky, but costed some HK$200.

To finish, just two word: "Dont Go"

Irori was always safe choice for nice meal out in CWB but since the restaurant was bought out by Ginza Iwa group they now specialise in Soba noodle and Unagi don and I was interested to try so we went.... Menu is simple and to my amazement no dishes were below $80 (even edamame!?) and for normal soba at $100! This is one fine version of a Tsukune stick, with a thick glaze which is teriyaki like 但不太甜. 很多香港的店也有這供應, 但很少店是有水準或不是交來貨色. 如配多只蛋黃就會更加回味.

Pizza Mochi -
這個比較上是意大利風的日本菜, 也是名物. 帶上蕃茄, 芝士, 年糕同少少煙肉的菜會是鐵板上, 很配啤酒也! 香香的. 4.5/5

吃過這不知多少次, 還有太多菜式沒機會介紹在此但也可以幾好吃的. 如果在香港的日本店內, 這間絕對是不二之選. 吃過有些的不是很討好, 但香港的水準黎計是超班的。

今天和友人相約來吃午餐.

我本來打算試吓壽司定食, 成200蚊, 即澳門逸園中心日本餐廳的價錢;相反, 其他定食平均百餘蚊; 所以我決定小試牛刀, 選擇了魚生飯定食, 如果好食的話, 再來吃其他。

蒸蛋 – 蠻精彩的蒸蛋,雞蛋蒸得細滑,又不失質感,內有香菇味,吃起來鮮味動人,內有豐富的內涵,有雞肉、蝦粒、香菇和日本魚蛋片,難得的是雞肉沒有冷凍味之餘,帶點肉香,蝦粒也有濃濃的海水味。

麵豉湯 – 麵豉非常清香,還有昆布和富豆香的日本豆腐粒,好喝得令人滿足。

日本米飯 –單從視覺,已知道這裏的飯,一定不錯,飯粒圓潤晶瑩,吃起來軟中帶彈性,還很飽肚呢!

牛舌 – 雖已提醒侍應本身不吃牛,但侍應忘了套餐內有牛舌,所以雖然這道牛舌看來甚吸引,但不得不放棄了。

雪糕 – 個人認為套餐中最弱的一環就是雪糕,普通的云尼拿味道,卻沒有日本雪糕的滑滑口感,甚為令人失望。

整體來說,此店的午市價錢真的不貴,個人認為環境格局有點像”麵屋一平安”,侍應服務有禮,值得推介!

3) 火焰鮮牛柳 ($150)


肉質軟熟,頗有牛味,配上炸乾蔥及醋酸汁,香口醒胃。只嫌乾蔥下得比上次重手,味道太搶,自己吃時要把蔥撥走一點。

4) 一口薄餅:免冶吞拿魚 ($80)


魚腩剁得幼細,味鮮,帶油脂甘香,配上帶微甜的沙律醬,味道出奇地夾。

5) 蔥燒牛舌 ($70)


牛舌全是舌心位,軟熟帶爽,十分不錯。蔥碎是鋪天蓋地而來,好此道的朋友一定樂透,個人卻不太喜歡淨吃生蔥,不過如果是以熱鐵板上再淋上醬汁,那又另計。

6) 鐵板豆腐扒 ($60)


一上檯,未吃巳被那撲鼻而來的醬油香氣深深吸引。豆腐外表包著一層纖薄的脆漿,有助吸收惹味的醬汁,內裡質感亦極為縎滑,雖然豆香不足,巳很滿意。

7) 韮菜煎蛋卷 ($50)


比起上次,這次是煎得熟了一點,但仍然鬆軟,充滿蛋香。

8) 牛肉炸卷 ($90)


酒處的炸功委實不錯,這個牛肉卷,跟春卷一樣,炸得清脆俐落,外層酥薄,內裡是惹味軟熟的薄牛肉包著大量青蔥,醮以醒胃醬汁,每一口也是滋味。

9) 鯖魚板壓壽司 ($120)


早前在新大壽吃過不錯的鯖魚板壓壽司,見OR食評說這裡也有,還做得不錯,所以點了這個作澱粉質單尾。先不說上面的鯖魚看起來比新大壽的薄許多,單就功夫來說這個是略優一疇的,押得靚仔企理,黏合緊緻。可惜味道卻令人失望,其實薄也不打緊,最敗筆的是魚肉過腥 ,當然知道鯖魚本身是有種獨特的魚腥味,但這個腥得來是給人不太新鮮的感覺,口感亦鞋,飯也可以再挺身一點。

整體氣氛不錯,服務也好,在席也吃得滿足,亦同意這是翻兜之選。

My 1st ever openrice review will be on Irori as we just dined there and I want to scribble down my thoughts while the memory is still fresh.

Central really has a lack of good izakayas so after work, we went to Causeway Bay Irori to satisfy our cravings, at least, that's what we thought.

Have been there a couple of times last year and remembered the food to be tasty and inexpensive - actually a really good deal if you go with a bunch of people.

After flipping through the drool-worthy photos in the menu, this time we ordered:

- Pumpkin salad: Comes in 2 big icecream scoops - a nice change from the typical japanese mashed potato salad, good choice for pumpkin lovers.

- Fried Cheese sticks: Unmemorable

- Fried chicken cartilage: Used to be very tasty, amazing combo with sake/beer but dunno what happened to it this time.. it was just deep fried.. semi tasteless cartilage. the batter was also a bit too thick.

- Japanese omelette: Cooked well and came a cute oval pancake shape.

- Salmon rice balls: Satisfying, sushi rice was cooked just right not too soft. Best part of the meal. Sadly.

- Grilled toro $300/6 pieces: While dishes on the menu are usually 50-60hkd, I chose to order this dish because I remembered it to be quite orgasmic! However, this time it came out pretty anaemic looking and was NOT FRESH AT ALL...unfortunately, this was not the only disappointment of the night!

When my sis informed the Japanese manager politely that their Toro was NOT fresh, instead of being very apologetic, she informed us (backed up by waitress) that they shipped the toro fresh from Japan. Waitress: You must be used to having toro that has been frozen before hand that’s why it taste different this time!”

Utter BS and downright insulting!!


Okay word of advice to Irori staff: if you can’t cancel the order just apologize politely and explain that you really can’t cancel it rather that insinuate that your customers have not had anything better before.

I must say that Irori’s fried beef rolls and pizza mochi (for mochi lovers) would probably be worth ordering, unless they have deteriorated like their fried and fishy friends. Irori is definitely not worth another visit as the service has ALWAYS been below average and like today for example, APPALING. Atmosphere is not good enough, tables too close together, not recommended for dates.

鯛魚薄切...自從在榮川吃過鯛魚薄切之後便一試愛上...可是這裡的實在切得不夠薄,亦欠缺了榮川獨有的美味醬汁!! 因此便明顯地給比下去了!!

炸蕃薯片...卡XB的蕃薯片我就吃得多,用新鮮蕃薯薄片鮮炸而成的炸蕃薯片就真的是第一次品嘗!! 感覺新鮮有趣!! 可是如果可以炸得更乾身的話則更為出色!!

蔥燒牛舌...由於餐前的不知名牛舌實在太美味了,我忍不住要再點一客牛舌!! 可是上菜時真的嚇了我一大跳...竟然是滿滿一大碗的蔥!! (本人向來不吃蔥的,因此反應會特別大!!) 原來牛舌都被厚厚的一大碗蔥掩蓋了!! 而這非免費的牛舌我覺得還是比不上那免費的餐前小碟!! 可能我個人比較喜歡吃稔的牛舌吧!! 這款煮得較為爽口,味道亦較為清淡。

牛肉炸卷...一上菜時看見牛肉炸卷內都是滿滿的蔥...我幾乎想要鬧人喇!! (重申一次,因為本人是不吃蔥的!!) 可是回想上一次在壽司廣吃的牛肉薄燒也同樣地是滿滿的蔥,卻竟然出乎意料地美味時...我終於也鼓起勇氣...就試一塊吧...哇~ 真係唔試就由自可,一試就弊家伙!! 估唔到連一向唔食蔥既我都食到停唔到口呀!! 雖然是炸物, 但牛肉仍然很鮮嫩軟滑!! 而且牛肉醃得又香又惹味!! 真係十個讚呀!!

鐵板豆腐...豆腐軟滑,醬汁出色!!

螢光魷魚...認真麻麻,一味夠鹹!!

其實我們還點了許多道菜,吞拿魚手卷、海膽手卷、雞泡魚乾、鹽燒雞翼、芝士春卷、燒銀鱈魚...可惜我早就已經吃不下了!!

當晚一段小插曲...話說當晚我們點了一些酒精特飲,落order時我們曾說笑地問道: "可唔可以加重料、重酒精架唔該?!" 想不到Waitress立即爽朗地答應,並果然為我們炮製了數杯"勁野"!! 哈哈...

這晚賣單接近$2,000...坦白講我覺得有點兒貴呢...可是總括來說食物質素的而且確有番咁上下,總算是物有所值!!

我地都選左牛奶ICE-CREAM ,
不過 , 我地都覺得牛奶味唔夠,
反而 , 雲呢拿味就好重.....

不過 , 整體 , 真係好好味!!!
