說回這個班戟套餐,除了一客鹹薄餅外,還包一小碗的核桃沙律或薯蓉,既然有 2 個餐,當然是每款餐前小吃也各選一份。先講個伴以黑醋汁的核桃沙律,講真個沙律都做得幾 hea 吓,蔬菜種類只得生菜一款,連一般沙律慣常會配備的車厘茄、火箭菜等都完全欠奉,而且合桃肉亦少得可憐,尤幸撕成一小片、一小片的生菜,入口還算新鮮爽脆,黑醋汁亦夠酸甜醒胃,不過整體味道都只是一般。

至於這客熱辣辣的薯蓉,吃來味道淡淡的,相信內裡是完全沒下過任何調味料,而且入口質感雖仍算軟綿,但就有欠粉糯,加上沒放牛奶及牛油的薯蓉,香滑度始終有所缺失,不過若從感受食物的原汁原味這角度來看,這客薯蓉確是薯味十足,要是用來配搭濃味的肉食,肯定會吃得更為愜意。

終於輪到我最期待的班戟,據說法式薄餅原是法國北部 Brittany 的地道食物,有鹹有甜,鹹的以蕎麥粉做外皮,叫 Galette,而甜的仍是叫 Crêpe,餅皮則改用麵粉炮製。可惜是次團購套餐只供應一款鹹的,否則兩人各選一鹹一甜,就更完美了。至於這次的鹹薄餅 Complete, 用上蕎麥加入海鹽和水做粉漿炮製,薄薄的班戟夾著火腿和芝士,中間還加了隻太陽蛋,賣相算唔錯,材料十足一份 all day breakfast, 而且當女侍由吧檯那邊把班戟拿過來時,老遠已傳來濃濃的蛋香。先用刀叉戳破蛋黃,再慢慢品嘗這份深啡色的薄餅,嗯,蛋香味的確唔錯,不過麥味就並非如傳說般那樣香濃,而且邊皮位軟腍腍的,香脆度亦不高,其實是頗令人失望的,幸而夾著火腿的部份,入口煙韌得來又帶點鹹香,不過這就是真的 「Authentic French Crêpes」 嗎? 至於老公的食後評語就是:「還是街頭的格仔餅來得更美味好吃啊!」

Walking into the restaurant, it was quite a refreshing scenery to me. Similiar to the name of the restaurant, the inner-decoration did not require any excessive items to decorate the restaurant. Instead, it used still colours such as red for tables and silver for chairs. White walls, mini blackboard and chalks for stand-up menus and black lamps for lit-up on the wall to give a sense of the 80s-90s. Everything so simple and quiet, just the right thing for a place of French Crepes.

The Groupon offer that my mother and I purchased included a can of soft drink, an appetizer and a Savory galette complete. First came the can of soft drink and an appetizer - I ordered mash potato and my mother ordered salad. The mash potato was finely mashed, and flavoured. It was not too salty but it had a slight taste of salt and pepper. It was a light appetizer that one could ask for. As for the salad, my mother liked it a lot as the pieces of lettuce were very refresh and cool, nicely blended with the vinegar sauce. The soft drinks were just out of the fridge - making them cool and chilled to drink.

Next arrived the maindish, the highlight of the Groupon offer, the Savory galette complete! This savory crepe contained a sunny-side up and slices of hams and cheddar cheese as in the ingredients. It was very attractive just to look at it.....and how did it taste? Well, on my first and second bites of the crepes..frankly, I was disappointed. As I continued to have my third and the fourth bites (and so on)..I felt more discouraged to go on!
One, it was way, way TOO SALTY! It was weird that the plate that my mother had was less saltier than mine. Mine was very salty that I couldn't finish my plate after I had a few bites
Two, the crepe was rather cold and hard, given that it had a thin layer, it felt like I was chewing a piece of 'overnight pizza crust' that was not crusty but chewy instead.Third, the flavour of the sunny-side up did not match with the crepe, and a bit bizzare when mixing with the slices of hams. I felt like I was eating..something of a breakfast but a French crepe breakfast? Oh gosh I had no idea...


All in all, I really wonder if my experience here in the Kramp House was truly an authentic French crepe journey as I did not feel any slight moment of the authenticness at all...my plate of Savory galette complete was quite, depressing. I was not full, obviously, after my meal. There were a lot of things to improve on, in the menu especially.

I told them I already made a reservation and she said "I don't have your reservation on my record." I bought the groupons for a lunch set and made a reservation last week.

When I arrived in the restaurant, they said they dont have my record for reservation. I told them I already made a reservation and she said "I don't have your reservation on my record." She went "we only released the coupons last Wednesday. Oh well, never mind, you are sitting here already.I have to let you in. But dont do it again NEXT TIME!!"

I was so pissed off. It's all their fault. They dont keep my booking details properly and it's not my job to make sure that they have all the information written down properly.

Then we ordered the food and she was showing a very horrible face to us. We had a crepe, it's nothing special... no suprise and it's not tasty at all...
Quite disgusting actually... with the raw egg in the middle of it ... IT's tasteless and the crepe was COLD!


Throughout the whole time there, the waitress really wanted to show us that they want us to leave asap. We finished the crepe and the took the plates away immediately. We were then drinking canned soft drinks that they gave us, which is a bit cheap and odd to be drinking canned soft drinks in a restaurant rather than drinking them in a glass or just a normal cup. A while later, the waitress grabbed our drink and wanted to take it away, she didn't even ask us and my friend was still drinking when she grabbed our drink. That was just so rude!


I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS RESTAURANT! AND I WILL RECOMMEND PEOPLE NOT TO GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!

Crap food and poor service! Why would you want to pay to get a bad treatment like that?!

The waffles arrived pretty quickly and I loved it, it was lovely and soft, slightly chewy in the middle.
They taste similar to American pancakes but better and more texture due to the grid structure.
They are different from the local ones, which are crispy and empty in the middle.

It is slightly different to the waffles at Waffle yo, primarily because of the shape, but both were deliciously soft, however the one at Kramp is chewier.

Previously I have tried La Creperie in Wan Chai and quite liked it. When I walked by Kramp House, I wanted to try it out to compare the crepes.

I arrived before my friend at Kramp House. I was immediately greeted by a waitress who nicely opened the door for me and took me to a table near the window. It was probably only 30% full when I sat down but when we left, it was almost 70% full.

There are two types of set lunch available which is HKD 88 or HKD 108. For the HKD 88 set lunch, it includes a Le Complete (Cheese, ham and egg) + a walnut salad + a drink (choice of bonaqua water, coke, diet coke, 7up). For HKD 108 set lunch, it includes a choice of sausage or chicken crepe + a choice of sugar or caramel crepe + a drink (same as above). If you want to have coffee or tea instead of the set drinks, you have to add HKD 10 (or more - depending on what you want) - which I think is unreasonable pricing.

The decoration is quite nice and the first feeling I got when I sat down is that the chairs are really cold (as other bloggers have mentioned, the chairs are made of metal).

Sugar crepe was too tough and was really really oily. It was as if there were a lot of butter added to make the sugar crepe.

My friend has pointed out that the crepes at Kramp House doesn't taste as good compared to La Creperie and also there are more fillings from La Creperie. To me, the crepe itself is not as tasty and thin as La Creperie.

Overall, La Creperie is better. If you want to have a quiet place to chill and read a good book, this is the place to go. If you are looking for yummy crepes, then I suggest you try La Creperie.

Complete Bacon [set $78]: 正如其他食友所說,賣相真的不夠美觀,但各處鄉間也有自家風格,理不了,咸食Crepe的蕎麥粉漿色水較為深也較香。餡料雖然只有煙肉、太陽蛋與芝士,但三者本來就是好朋友而且咸香兼備,沾上一點蛋黃汁就更可口,吃得頗為滿意。

Sucre [$27]: 要試真味就要由最基本的開始,甜食Crepe的粉漿並沒有加蕎麥,白白軟軟的一幅,正如餐牌描述Lightly salted butter and sugar,真的淡如無味,而且砂糖的分佈不平均,小比望著對面的咸食Crepe很香口,自已的卻淡如吃濕布,些少脆邊都沒有,很可憐的樣子。

因為知道自已再來的機會不大,就與大比商量會否多給一個機會試多一款甜Crepe,可能其他餡料豐富的較為可取呢~結果就點了個Tatin,我們看Menu時店員一直站在身後,落單後快快收起餐牌離開,對不起也要說一句,真的有種被趕的感覺。站在製餅位的法藉女店主也無甚笑容,而且一整完我們的Crepe就熄了廚房部份的燈,走了進店後方的辦公休息室。

Tatin [$43]: 這個算是貴的一批甜食Crepe,是為Stewed Apple/ Crème Fraiche/ Cinnamon,但賣相依然是白雪雪的軟身版,餡料也不算多,玉桂蘋果是天生匹配,但原來配上芝士也可接受,至少不用太過甜膩,也算試過傳統的配搭。

簡約的裝修是小比喜歡的,但冷冰冰的服務以及人氣甚低的情況下,感覺確實不太好受,二人分吃三份Crepe,也可說是預計之內理所當然地不飽,結果,是竟然要吃多一個炒飯和餃子才完成是日午餐。個人還是較喜歡La Creperie那種徹底帶你走進法國燈塔環境的氣氛小店,出品同時也較為可取。而且最重要的一點是,門前沒有擺放任何餐牌,而門前也沒表明是吃甚麼,如果只是路過,其實,是不知道這店是吃甚麼的。

Worst crepes I have had. I ordered the poulet which is a bit sour (or are they supposed to taste that way?) and had a burnt taste to it. Very small and pricy ($80, tips inclusive). Service was good, though. It's a decent place for drinks, but please do NOT order the crepes.

中意食crepes,所以決定過來試。晚上唔多人,裏面裝修簡潔但都幾舒服,系紅色的台面同紅色的menu有d太搶眼。。。同朋友點佐savoury crepes的poulet (chiken+mushroom),saint jacques(scallop)。兩個crepes都唔算用料豐富,簡簡單單,crepes比較薄,我覺得麥味ok,不過都太乾身,雞肉也比較乾,同scallop一樣都沒咩味道,我罕有的需要加鹽同black pepper,反而灑系上面的蔥令crepes可以香d,我覺得呢樣ok.之後再要佐sweet crepes的tatin同sucre。我唔中意cinnamon,所以唔評價tatin,但sucre系好味嘎,crepes有蛋香,小小鹹牛油又加d糖,味道剛剛好,3分系俾sucre的。

I'm working in Wanchai and i saw while walking back to the office that a new crepes place was going to open in Ship St, at the spot where was located Shake ‘em bums before, just two blocks away from la Creperie!! When I am craving for crepes, I usually go to La Creperie in Queen's rd east that serves very authentic savory and sweet crepes. Another restaurant, Fleur de Sel, has also recently opened in Causeway bay but I didn't have time to try yet.

My husband is from Brittany and we really love crepes. I was very curious to visit this new creperie to see if the quality of their crepes would be good enough to compete with La Creperie.
The answer is NO!!!! They have lots of work to do to improve their quality.

I tried their set lunch 78 HK$ with la Complete (ham, cheese, egg) and a sugar crepe for desert.
The chef is a tall French lady. The waitress told me she is from Brittany so I was pretty optimistic regarding the quality of the crepe she would make.

But when my complete arrived, I was so disappointed. It was very bad. The dough was made of buckwheat flour but it was tasteless. The color was very pale. It was thin but very dry, just like if you eat paper! And where was the salted butter that they usually spread on the crepe in Brittany?? The egg white was also not cooked. It was viscous, very disgusting! I didn't finish it.
The service is quite nice though. The waitress was attentive and smiling. I didn't dare to tell her it was not good and pretended I was full.

The sweet crepe was a little bit better, but once again, not as good as those at La Creperie and for sure not as good as those I have eaten in Brittany.

Sorry but I won't go back. I prefer to pay 10 HK$ for the same set lunch at la Creperie and make sure I will eat something good and authentic.

I was browsing newly listed resturants on OpenRice and found this one. Kramp House caught my attention.Kramp House sounded interesting. I wondered if their machinery was also from Krampouz.

Anyway, it was listed as a French restaurant on OpenRice, but after searching it on the internet, found out they served French Crepes.

There are now two Creperie restaurants in Wan Chai, and this one is closer in distance to Alliance Francais.

Apart from this restaurant, there is another newly opened restaurant called Madam Sixty Ate (headed by an Aussie and an English chef) at J senses which was also tempting to go, but I opted to go to this one.

It is located on Ship Street where Shakembuns used to be, I was actually quite surprised it had closed down, there is only one branch remaining in Central.

Anyway, the decor of that restaurant matched that street and it was very modern, however the name and design of the logo made me feel like I was in Belgium.

The restaurant had a simplistic modern colour theme, red, black, white and silver, the tables were red, and chairs were silver.

The menu was red with black and white fonts and the menu cover had their logo on it.

Anyway be prepared for the icy coldness of the metal chairs, If you are wearing thin material, short skirt/shorts you will feel the icy coldness of the metal chair on your skin!
It takes a few seconds to get accustomed to it!
It reminded me of jumping in icy cold water and the coldness passing from the lower limbs to the upper body!

Foodwise, this place serves savoury crepes, sweet crepes and waffles.

On weekdays they have set lunches like La Creperie and on weekends it is A la Carte, but there are more choice for A la Carte.
The pricing is slightly cheaper than La Creperie.

At La Creperie it felt like a local town in France, and the restaurant was more masculine, however Kramp house had more French feminity to it but it felt more like Belgium.

I ordered four crepes two savoury and two sweet ones.

This was simply cheese, ham, egg.
It was simple and delicoius, however I cant compare it to La Creperie because I havent had their version of le complete.
The crepe was crisp and slightly soft in the centre, the egg yolk was good for dipping the crisp parts of the crepe.
The crepe was topped with fresh chives and the cheese inside this crepe was just melted and I loved that texture.
The ham was wafer thin, it was pale think but it was delicious, not too salty.

This crepe contained chicken, mushrooms, parsley. creme fraiche, garlic and cheese.
This was also nice, it was creamy, the chicken that was used was white meat, and the mushrooms were button mushrooms.

This was a sweet crepe filled with stewed apple, creme fraiche and sprinkled with cinnamon.
The sweetness of the apple was just right, the apple was apple puree.

This was also a sweet crepe with a choice of jam, so I chose Fig, it was quite sweet.

All crepes were folded into a square and served on a rectangular plate.
The crepes arrived quite fast and they did not arrive one by one.
I cant wait to come again for more crepes!

Crepe Poulet是一個材料豐富的班戟,餐牌上寫有六款材料,雞肉及磨菇永遠也是最佳的配合,配上芝士及香料,也是一道不錯的選擇,可是雞肉比較乾身及無味,完全被磨菇遮蓋,雞肉再弄濃味一些會更好。

兩款Crepe雖則味道不錯,但班戟皮略嫌麥香不足夠,質感上比較稔身,只有邊的位置是脆的。另外,別的店子也會以一些沙律菜作為咸味班戟中的配菜,可是這裡卻一點兒也沒有,只在班戟上灑上蔥粒罷了,與別店比較立刻處於下風。

吃罷兩味咸點,就是甜班戟場,先是Crepe Sucre,Sucre的意思正是Sugar,雖然只是一道簡單的甜班戟,但班戟皮充滿蛋香,又鬆脆,塗上丁點兒咸牛油後灑上砂糖,即時令簡簡單單的一味甜點更好。可是Crepe Caramel更得我心,焦糖的香甜真的有如變魔法一樣,使班戟更好味,班戟皮與焦糖醬一拍即合。與咸班戟相比,還是覺得這兒甜班戟比較好吃。

這兒的班戟如與別店比較,由配料以至擺盤上也不及,算是普通。可取的是等候時間不長,可能是由於沒有客的關係。由於新店的關係,操作上可能還未及調整,希望將來,可以再次品嚐更高品質的班戟。
