We went to the Hysan Place shop a few times and like the atmosphere a lot. This time I went with my family to Kyohayashiya (Tai Koo) shop to have dessert after dinner tonight (8 April). There were 4 of us and we went in around 20:35. After we settled down and made the order, the staff told us that there was a minimum order per person. Though we are quite full already and just wanted to share a big serve of snow mountain and ice-cream, I told the waiter that we will order a piece of cake to take
This time I went with my family to Kyohayashiya (Tai Koo) shop to have dessert after dinner tonight (8 April). There were 4 of us and we went in around 20:35. After we settled down and made the order, the staff told us that there was a minimum order per person. Though we are quite full already and just wanted to share a big serve of snow mountain and ice-cream, I told the waiter that we will order a piece of cake to take away to make up the difference. The snow mountain came late. When we were about to eat, we noticed that the waiters had started to lock up the shop for cleaning. So we have to rush off the dessert to check out. And while checking out, I then noticed that instead of a slice of cake to take away, they charged me the whole cake roll! OK, I took that and hold my temper, finished the check out and were told that we have to leave by the side door. If you think that was bad enough, the worse was yet to come. I paid for the cake roll and they did not give it to me. Instead, I noticed the cake roll was missing and have to rush back to the shop again to get it. It would be much better if the staff there could let us know the time for the last order and the time we could spend in the shop before shop closure at the time we entered so we could decide whether to dine in or take away. I would have saved my money and temper!! Such a bad experience will make me think twice whether or not to visit the Kyohayashiya again
