After the delicious meal, we ordered 2 desserts from the dessert menu.

The chorizo salad comes in 10 pieces. I think it was very tasty and delicate.

Carbonara is always my favorite. The chef definitely didn't disappoint me on this. There were a lot of bacon and the sauce was fantastic. It wasn't too creamy nor too salty.

I would say this steak was the best steak I've ever had. I didn't even have to pour the gravy or any salt and pepper. The meat was lean and tantalizingly delicious. It was beyond our expectation.

先談服務,好壞也算是走中高檔路線的餐廳,全程竟無侍應來refill 水;鄰座食客自備美酒,多次叫侍應先開瓶醒酒,到頭來還是沒有開,到上枱一刻才剛開瓶。話說回來,是次食評只想重點點評此店的招牌菜 ”燒澳洲M5霜降肉眼扒配紅酒燒肉汁($428)”。紅酒燒肉汁正常,肉眼扒外表也很不俗,內裡是要求的medium rare,但當切開吃了一塊、又一塊的時候,就是令人極失望了,很多根,每一小塊都有根,感覺很差,明顯是肉質不佳的表現,相信與大廚廚藝無關。四百多元一塊扒,不應是這個水準吧,真令人有多少懷疑這是否menu 上寫的m5 扒(雖然m5不是最高級別)。龍蝦意大利飯味道尚可,飯粒軟硬合宜,只嫌龍蝦肉鮮味欠奉,不過只賣百多元的也不能要求有新鮮龍蝦肉吧。藍貝是多道菜式中味道較好的了,份量正常,不會太少,約10 - 13 隻左右,都係百多元。唯一可惜的是白酒味太少,幾乎嚐不到,多一點的話相信會令藍貝的味道更凸出。總而言之,沒吃牛排的話可以評它一個ok;一吃牛排的話,喊口是理所當然的了。

午膳時間到銅鑼灣閒狂逛,順道到附近餐廳午膳。之前的La Bon開業於灣仔,試過後感覺不錯,今次試試銅鑼灣店的水準。店內以白色作主調,清雅得來帶點時尚感。午市主要有兩大類美食,分別是扒類食材及意粉套餐,前菜餐湯二選一,送甜品。前菜選了煙肉雞卷,整體質感比預期「瘦削」,未知雞卷是否過份冷藏,入口竟有少許吃沙冰的感覺。伴碟以沙律菜配上香醋調味,味道效果恰如其分。主菜點了五成熟的肉眼扒,切開有肉汁溢出,火喉控制準繩,可惜的是肉質還是有點韌,味香也不能追回所失分數。所用上的芥醬應調配過,幾好味。甜品薰衣草奶凍,口感比預期結實,幼滑度及奶香不足。特色是以薰衣草調味,每一口奶凍也洋溢清新花香。套餐不連餐飲,感覺差了一點。最後加$10多要一杯熱咖啡,質素味道相當普通。

四月十七日 (星期二)銅鑼灣登龍街食肆林立,特別是拉麵,有舞心以及豚王可能因此大家會忽略了永光中心半年前與同事曾經到訪過一家意大利菜今日就到了另一家叫La Bon,有次老公仔見到食友對這裡的評語不錯,老公仔更一早訂了枱去到十二時半左右,我們與朋友卻是全場第一枱食客事業上,全個午餐時段就只得我們以及鄰座的三位女士,也許競爭太大先來的湯是Wild Mushroom Cream Soup是一碗超濃的磨菇西湯吃到啖啖的磨菇蓉,感覺很清新健康,菇迷必試以闊條麵加上白汁,意利彈粉富蛋香,而且吃落很creamy蝦仁大隻且鮮味爽口,吃得出是上盛的貨色愛吃雞的老公仔當然不會放過任何一個有雞吃的機會不過這道菜份量少,不太適合男生吃雞肉香嫰,肉質很香滑,只嫌份量較少下面放上了薯仔蓉,充滿牛油味來到了飯後甜品是我們喜愛的法式燉蛋吃落只帶微暖,焦糖亦不夠香脆,真是臨尾香~此西餐廳食物質素不俗,但午餐食客極少,不知道晚上的情況會否有異?似乎要在宣傳方面下一點苦功

The small room was cozy and could seat about 28 people. The girl who picked up my phone call for reservation asked if I would like to have some words written on the dessert for mum, and I said sure, that's very thoughtful of you. But that was where the good service ended and the bad started.

The menu had a decent selection of food in each category and most sounded quite tempting. There was also a set dinner menu, 4 courses for $398, and you could choose from wine/soft drinks/tea or coffee. Also the dessert could be changed for about $30. The wine selection was average, with young wines that didn't stand out.

My parents went for the set menu and on top of that dad ordered an extra La Bon salad because mine looked pretty good (lots of juicy smoked salad, diced duck breast and fresh greens). I ordered the salad, and the angel hair with zucchini and crab meat. So you'd think that if some customers had 4 courses and another had 2, you would at least try to serve the dishes so everyone could be eating at the same time? But no, my salad came pretty promptly, but it was another 15 minutes before my parents prawn salad with sesame dressing came. We were told that the orders were wrong (the only other option was mussels, and I honestly don't see how they could have screwed that up), and the chef had to prepare the dishes again. Whatever.

The mushroom cappuccino came next for my parents. It was served in a dainty cup with 3 croutons and a dollop of truffle oil on the same. The soup was light and fluffy but still creamy, and the truffle oil added a hint of savouriness to it.

Again, my main course came about 10 minutes before my parents, so I made a point not to start without them, and naturally the pasta went cold. Since we've already asked them to serve it at the same time, I wonder if they have problems understanding our requests in their mother tongue. Or maybe they just don't care. Finally came the cod which was tasty and fresh, though the presentation was a bit full on and you couldn't really see what was going on with everything piled high on top of each other. And for my pasta, the sauce was a bit watery and you could see it pooling at the bottom of the dish, but the taste was OK and the crab meat was fresh, but had bits of shell still in it.

For dessert, my dad had the mango panna cotta and my mum the apple roll (or strudel as most people would call it) a la mode. Mum's came on a massive dish with birthday greetings on it, which hopefully saved the night from being an utter disaster.

The staff tried to interrupt as frequently as possible whenever someone had finished a dish to remove it, rather than waiting for everyone to finish one course first before clearing. This created a lot of disruption in our otherwise pleasant conversation, and it was irritating to say the least. If you are going to call yourself a French restaurant (that serves mostly Italian food), please at least observe some basic etiquette of the Western way of dining. And it's Not. That. Hard. Serve each course at the same time for all customers, and remove dishes at the same time. The way they are doing it, they might as well call themselves 好好茶餐廳. And the clients there seemed like they might be more suited to a 茶餐廳 anyway: one guy next to us leaned in towards his pasta and used a fork to transfer the pasta the whole 2 inches of distance between the plate and his face, then proceeded to make the loudest slurping noises when consuming the pasta, and when his mouth was full, he promptly chewed off the rest and let it drop back onto the dish. The 3 young 'uns on our other side was swearing profanely, and not quietly enough that my mother could not hear. I was totally embarrassed. Even if the food was a hundred times better, I wouldn't come back here.

(不像我之前去過的那間....
其實買得團購不一定只是貪平, 有時都真的想試一下新的餐廳,
但又不敢第一次付出太多去RISK 不好吃的機會

正價要$398 我未必會叫
