同朋友出開尖沙咀行街,見有啲餓時間又尚早,就決定去荔園食個下午茶,貪佢平平地又坐得舒服。上菜速度幾快,落單後十分鐘就上哂。干炒牛河口感偏油膩,但都係意料之內。落左唔少韮菜同洋蔥炒,香口但唔夠獲氣,牛肉片都算多同幾大塊。粒粒西多大小均稱、呈金黃色,賣相幾吸引,但入口微溫、感覺似擺左陣淋左唔少糖漿,幾夠味,入口都有牛油香,麵包幾鬆軟,但外圍唔夠脆口。菜蜜調得過甜,幸好有檸檬中和一下。整體而言,價錢同質素對比表現不過不失,勝在坐得舒服,只係餐廳走樂園路線,小朋友比較多,環境大部分時間都比較熱鬧,如果想靜靜地既話建議都係去返coffee shop

整體而言,價錢同質素對比表現不過不失,勝在坐得舒服,只係餐廳走樂園路線,小朋友比較多,環境大部分時間都比較熱鬧,如果想靜靜地既話建議都係去返coffee shop

適逢朋友結婚,時間尚早但有少少肚餓,就入黎一試,本來想食個茶餐,不過時段已過。見到特飲有新鮮菠蘿冰一般餐廳用的多是罐頭貨,比較少見用新鮮的,本人覺得很好,所以一試。上檯一杯菠蘿冰加半個菠蘿……原來是要自己榨汁,再溝入菠蘿冰,感覺很有新鮮技術足,搾得不多,所以用匙羹挖,連汁連肉,正。不過我喜歡有人代勞多D,因為好難下。另外叫了炸鷄肶配薯角。鷄肶超大隻,有圖有真相。皮脆肉嫩,薯角香口!正呀!

荔園茶餐廳開咗咁耐,終於預啱時間嚟試一試!估唔到呢度嘅鐵板餐都幾大份!熱辣辣鐵板海陸空雜菜薯角配砵酒汁砵酒汁一淋,香氣四溢。雞扒嫩滑多汁又夠大塊、豬扒熟成剛好、都非常嫩。蝦都幾大隻,同帶子一齊食鮮味加分!配菜都唔輸蝕,芝士蕃茄,又酸又咸香夠晒惹味,西蘭花仲有脆薯角。呢度最過癮就係可以親手搾菠蘿冰,半個菠蘿連手動搾汁器一同上台,仲有一半杯梳打汽水。都要用啲力,奶力都出埋嘅成果倒完之後,剛剛好再多少少,有得玩,有好嘢食,滿分!

We ordered a chef recommended caramel poached egg French toast and Chicken cutlet curry instant noodle.

To be honest, I was shocked when the food arrived because it looked like poached egg making gone wrong. If you go past the look of it, it’s a normal French toast with a sad looking egg. Oh well
so, stick to what others ordered which is the small bite French toast.

The curry chicken cutlet instant noodle fared better. It had a generous portion of vegetable, dry noodles and chicken. Downside was there was too much water left at the bottom of the dish. A very watered version of curry, lacking punch in the spice factor. It’s not good, neither can I say it was bad.

Overall, a very confusing experience, but it is a pretty nice ambience if I can look past my mediocre-tasting food choice. Perhaps other items will taste better

年輕一代對「荔園」認識不大,但對於筆者以及不少中年、老年、土生土長的香港人來說就甚具意義。「荔園」於1949年開業,當年的香港並沒有太多休閑設施,一般香港人更加沒有什麼假日消閑活動可言,「荔園」的動物園及機動遊戲就成為了當年一家大細的重點加入活動,也是不少人的童年回憶時。可惜到了 1997年,始終敵不過時代巨輪的變遷而被迫結業。早兩年「荔園」曾一度在中環海濱以遊樂場形式重現,勾起大家的集體回憶。「荔園」後人形容「荔園」和茶餐廳均充滿香港本土特色,因此把兩者結合, 打造全新概念的茶餐廳,讓人回顧往日的「荔園」情懷。「荔園茶餐廳」就這樣創造出來。「荔園」的吉祥物「老虎仔」變成純白色,放在大門外做生招牌。水吧位置有寫著「荔園」的霓虹燈,非常耀眼。餐廳內的裝飾充滿「荔園」影子,好像天花上的旋轉木馬及拱形木吊燈,讓人有置身遊樂園的感覺。牆上掛了多幅以「荔園」為主題的卡通畫作,用色夢幻,帶給人客緬懷童年的無限歡樂。到「荔園茶餐廳」的客人大部分都是中年以上,為的是懷念過去。年輕人喜歡自拍及相機食先,但是筆者留意到不少中年、老人四處拍照留言,原來自拍不是年輕人的專利!飯枱用磚砌成,令筆者聯想到兒時在「

【荔園招牌炸雞脾配薯角 $58】荔園推介美食當然要試下!雞脾的賣相相當吸引,外皮炸得金黄,看上去脆卜卜而且夠乾身。老公話生炸雞脾,但店員介紹雞脾是用美國珍寶雞脾,再以雜菜及香料醃製後,先蒸後炸。

雞脾味道不淡不太咸,調味剛好。咬下去雞皮卜卜脆,過了一回雞皮依然香脆,做到脆而不油膩。雪藏雞脾不期望有肉味,勝在夠大隻又啖啖肉,而且夠Juicy。

【煎 pan 粒粒西多士 $36】西多士是最喜愛的港式茶餐廳食物之一,只可惜近年已經很難找到既傳統、又好食的港式西多了。見到餐牌內的西多士要 $36,價錢唔平,加上照片所示的西多士非常厚身,並預先切開一粒粒,每粒又炸得底面及四邊金黃;實在相當吸引,以為是傳統港式西多口味,一於試吓。

西多士用小煎 pan 送上,大約有10至12粒,每粒非常厚身,加起來差不多有兩件厚切方包的份量。有別於傳統港式西多,並沒有附上牛油、糖膠或者煉奶,但每一粒西多皆炸至面面金黃,與餐牌內的照片非常相近,實在難得。叉起一粒,從力度感覺到表面香脆,咬下去表面有恰當的甜度,雖然稍為欠缺牛油的香濃,整體仍然算相當不錯。只不過當再咬深一點、咬開整粒西多之後,再次失望了 ⋯⋯ 原來又做不到傳統港式西多士的要求。

從橫切面見到麵包雖然很厚身,並吸收了很多淡黃色的雞蛋漿,原來只是一件厚切方包,並不是中間塗上花生醬或者果占的兩件薄方包,所以缺少了花生醬或者果占的味道,西多的味道層次即時減弱。如果唔係夠厚身、切成細細粒方便進食兼多了一個特色、又唔使自己動手動腳塗牛油及加糖漿,就只會勉強值三粒星。

點任何食物只要加$10就有飲品,都算抵飲!老公有時是個大細路,所以點了杯【兒童鴛鴦】。大人鴛鴦是咖啡溝奶茶,兒童鴛鴦是可立克溝阿華田,非常特別,但是味道就可立克味蓋過阿華田味。至於奶茶乃茶餐廳靈魂之一,但是這裡的奶茶只有甜味,沒有茶香奶滑效果。
