The shop front look stylish with outdoor chairs but it was too hot so 4 of us decided to get seats inside. The female waitress is terribly rude to us and arranged us to sit at the bar table even there is no guests in the restaurant! We are a group of 4 which is perfectly fit to the 4 people table, why bar table? We ordered dumpling, toast and some snacks, the food were fair. We asked for an extra bowl to share food, the female waitress asked us to take the bowl from the cupboard. Ok we can handle it! But then she came out with a bowl and knocked it so rude...okay, we thought you are stressed so we didn't bargain. Finally, we have got the menu and would like to order coffee and tea soon, the female waitress asked us to pay the bill and stopped us from ordering...huh?! I guess she hates the 4-people being occupied so she wanted us out! Good food but poor service, don't ruin your holiday mood!! Seldom do we not recommend a restaurant, it is the first one! continue reading

This place is good if you get there early otherwise you have to sit at the bar which is a waste.Dishes are creative.Tried the chilled noodles which were tasty presented in a modern way. They tasted good accompanied by the tomato consomme, the noodles were firm and springy with pieces of juicy tomatoes.Might return to try the other dishes. continue reading

This is what laid-back really means - hidden at the end of a small lane where you could enter from the long and steep Center Street. Decorated in how a traditional 'chachanteng' looks like, the cafe is serving Chinese food with a twist, or coffee with latte art in a china cup.The concept of the shop is to re-call the 80s memories in chachanteng but add onto the element of comfy-ness. The cafe is also utilizing all the local raw materials from local factories, wishing to support the local, return to the local. The idea is  greatly appreciated, but CP value of the food is not really high. The portion is a bit too small and I don't really think to put dumplings in tea is a much wise idea (they just do not mix with each other, but you can just drink the tea instead). The coffee is good though (they are also local baked beans). The good point is that the outdoor seating (just 2) is quite chill and quiet to enjoy just next to such a busy street. continue reading
