Didnt intend to write about this dish, but since its different, decided to.Ordered it by accident, thinking it was sweet and sour fish or meat, but it turned out to be fried dough stick instead.So overall it is very cheap in terms of ingredients, but it tasted quite nice, a bit like dipping dough sticks in sweet and sour sauce.

5月9日(星期日)早上,是日母親節,亦是我和女友雙方家長第一次見面的大日子。雖然雙方家長都是開通和明白事理的人,不欲在我們的婚事上做太多繁文縟節,但有些事情總得要當面傾談,為方便可以盡早預訂酒席,所以安排這天會面,順道可一同慶祝母親節。早上約九時半,家父、家母和我兩位姐姐早已到達了酒樓,我亦為免重蹈覆轍,十時正就在下車處等候世伯、伯母、大姐姐和女友的來臨。等了一會,女友一家終於來到了,我就隨即給她們帶路到酒樓,來到時剛好之前落單的點心亦送來了。原來我的家人點了很多點心,包括燒賣、牛肉、小籠包、叉燒包、馬拉粒、蒸粉果和排骨、炸春卷、叉燒腸粉和炸兩等共十二款點心,其中我祇吃了少許點心。小籠包皮太厚,肉汁亦不多;馬拉糕尚算鬆軟,亦有蛋香;排骨雖然骨不多,但頗肥膩;炸春卷夠香脆,芋蓉味道甚濃;炸兩裡的炸麵又硬又乾,不算好吃。由於是次飲茶的目的不是祇在於吃點心,所以並沒有心情去記著吃過的點心和味道。幸好飲茶時氣氛歡愉,大家都有講有笑,接近尾聲時我和女友約略交代有關婚事的細節,雙方家長非常開明,很多事情都沒有反對,並幾乎將有關婚事的所有事給我倆全權處理。飲完茶後,雙方家長回家去,我和女友就準備去婚

Food here is deteriorating, even with the spring onion buns, you can see not all were cooked at the same time, the other two are nice and white, and the other one is over fried.Anyway, while I was there, they had a staff meeting, they were trying to improve things with more deluxe items such as abalone, which I heard they sourced them for $7 each.In a suburb town like TKO, I believe that appropriate things should be offered, too fancy and people wouldn’t try it, unless they saw people having it.

In a suburb town like TKO, I believe that appropriate things should be offered, too fancy and people wouldn’t try it, unless they saw people having it.
They should give food items realistic names rather than fancy names that not even their waitors would know what dish they are.
It's a real put-off for me, when I need to ask the waitor what a dish is because of its fancy name, and then wait for the waitor to ask the chef what it is, since the name is so fancy even their staff dosnt know.

Not everyone is that curious to find out or try their luck with a dish that dosnt say what they are.

It’s just so simple! They could just check Openrice and see what other restaurants are serving and get inspiration. V Cuisine is a good restaurant direction they could head for!

I also ordered fried fish balls with clam sauce, my first proper taste of real clam sauce.

I had previously tried clam sauce at Yue mic ka and Fishing village, but both were not fresh, and it just tasted metallic with orange peel, and also the clams were dry and chewy.

The clam sauce here was perfect, the clams are not fully cooked, the sauce is slightly mud grey/brown, with a taste of saltiness and fermented beancurd and orange peel.

Arrived, was greeted nicely. We had limited time for our meals and we immediately ordered two set courses. The waitress kinda of noticed that and asked me what time we had to leave - and so she promised the dishes would be out very soon.

And right she was... within the next twenty minutes everything was out and nicely served. Food was fantastic (compared to what I have had here before) - crisp and fresh! I am totally won over. My English-speaking friends loved it too.

By the time we had to leave the restaurant it started to get filled up. If they can keep up with this excellent, attentive service, they are on a winner!

After weeks and weeks of the same menu, I got really bored of the selection.

There was nothing I wanted to eat, but then some new items caught my eye, so I was relieved they finally put more new items in.

FRIED OYSTER:
totally not fried at all, i was expecting it to be covered in batter, but there was none, it was an oyster wrapped in beancurd sheet dipped in Teriyaki sauce and grilled.
It was nice and crispy, the oyster was too firm to be fresh, it tasted like those half dried oysters.
As well as the oysters there was crispy fish as garnishing too, very crispy and well flavoured.

Lotus roots with baby duck:
It was definately not a baby duck at all, the name "lin au mun ap jai" is a bit misleading, it sounds more like a baby duck, so I was expecting a baby duck, like pigeon meat.
Anyway I asked the waitress, and she didnt confirm it was baby duck or not, she just said chopped up duck pieces.
When it arrived, there was generous sauce, same with all their braised dishes.
The first bite of the duck tasted like the over boiled pork from chinese soups, then it started tasting like duck.
This dish was quite impressive as there was real chunks of duck meat attached to the bones unlike other places where they give you mainly bones with not much meat at all.
Overall, it tasted really good, rich sauce.

我和老公在刚过去的星期天晚上,到利寶閣吃饭。点了以下小菜:(1) 砂锅鱼翅 - 我们从来未吃过那么难吃的鱼翅,汤是完全没有味道的,只能吃到豆粉的味道。鱼翅不是很多。价钱是HK$138,不值得。我们觉得街边的碗仔翅比它好味100倍。(2)上汤时蔬及龙虾两味 - 价钱是HK$148,龙虾肉不多,上汤时蔬普普通通。我们对这些菜式十分不满意,不但价钱贵而且味道差。我们虽然各人已吃了一碗白饭,但仍然不饱,可见龙虾肉真是不足够两人吃。我们发誓以后不再来这儿吃饭!

chicken pot with wonton:
literally a bowl of chicken soup with wontons!!

Salmon vol-au-vents:
Lucky they were piping hot, or else I would have got spiked by the long rigid thick fish bone ( see picture ).
I really was not expecting a fish bones!!!
Tasted ok, except the pastry was not well baked, the base was still hard and not risen properly.

星期六下晝同屋企人飲茶,阿媽之前試過話幾好食,於是就去試下。環境 - 幾好,雖然樓酒唔會有卡位,不過都有梳化坐喎,幾創新,好舒服。唯一係冷氣勁左D,要帶多件衫。食物 - 中上之作。尤其個魚湯米線,好鮮甜。我平時唔LIKE魚湯GA,怕腥,不過呢個又冇問題喎,我仲encore一碗。甜品就最出色,我從來未食過咁鬆化蛋散,以前食過其他酒樓或者街買既,都係超厚粉,得個硬字,但今次呢間就好鬆化,而且一D都唔油,大家都食到好HAPPY。個奶凍都唔錯,好滑,唔太甜。兩款甜品都唔會令人有飽飽滯滯既感覺,非常之唔錯!

星期五7月31日見到生果報紙用半版編幅去賣坑口利寶閣, 見啲點心賣相很靚,便星期星專登去試下。食店裝修很靚,以為服務食品應該不差....見到報紙上圖文並荗去展示一款 焗製酥式的"上素甘筍棵",點知點心上到台不同樣, 變了蒸的點心,以為點錯了, 但士應話這是對的, 我們叫了一個 "椒鹽鮋魚" 但到差不多要走也未來,故便請待應去查下有沒有漏單,那個待應用背隻背著我們, 好像不想我們, 我們以為佢聽不到, 便再示意,佢竟然話 "鮋魚呀! 係等咁耐啦! 等下囉!" 然後便走了去....我們再叫一個較為高級的部長來, 請她再檢查,她回來後叫我們等下, 整緊, 但見佢手上拿著單, 我們問佢係咪漏單,她支唔以對, 做什麼呢, 漏單咪漏單囉, 為何一句也不說, 對著以上不禮貌的對待, 我們激氣走了,如上經驗, 讓我突然看到一個問題, 就是埋單時, 見單上計了服務費, 我想問, 如果服務態度咁差, 我可以不俾服務費嗎?待應俾氣給客人受, 我們做客人應該問番他們囉服務費才對!!!!!!!

咕嚕里脊蝦球:咕嚕汁較酸,里脊肉鬆軟入味,蝦球很大隻,肉質爽滑鮮味,且炸醬不厚,我覺得這款小菜這裡做得頗出色;
魚湯鮮腐竹魚滑浸時蔬:魚湯清淡鮮甜,鮮腐竹幼滑,魚滑軟腍,小棠菜新鮮翠綠,健康清淡;
清蒸海石班:我不是太在行吃魚,但因為家父愛吃魚,衹要他覺得好吃就可以了,不過我亦覺得這條魚肉質軟滑鮮味,應該不錯!

這頓晚飯氣氛愉快,其實我們還想吃甜品,但是我們想吃的甜品大多售罄,本來提議去吃糖水,但是近的沒有位,遠的父母又不想去,惟有父母和大家姐一起打道回府,我就送女友回家了!

侍應哥哥及上菜的阿姐有笑容.
環境:
人多單位比一般酒家細一半.
椅子軟墊.. 好坐.
位與位距離好闊. 唔會頂住哂.
人聲唔太嘈.
價錢略貴.
除非早上去飲.. 不過小點都差不多要十蚊.
整体上. 未必成日去. 因為太貴了.
食得唔飽肚,, 都成百元找數..
