Our craving for good authentic Indian cuisine and a place where we can sit, eat, chill and chat brought my friend and I here one evening. It was my first time here and I was completely blown away. Whether it is the ambience or the extravagant decor (not to mention the saucy Hindi tunes and must-have Bollywood music videos in the background), this restaurant took me to a different world from months of monotonous 茶餐廳s. The wonderfully designed menu features an overwhelmingly wide selection of dishes from various regions of India. We ordered a tomato-based chicken curry, a Vegetarian spinach/cottage cheese curry (the cheapest options given a somewhat tight budget - approx. $90-100@), garlic naan, an onion-filled naan, plus a regular sweet lassi each. Our dinner came with a cracker basket, a small taste of soup, and a variety of chutney and dips (which I completely swept away by the end of dinner). The curries were without a doubt delicious, not greasy, the naan steaming hot and aromatic, and the lassi added a tangy touch to our dinner. The portions were surprisingly large (for 2 people) so I had extra for lunch the next day! No room for desserts, sadly.
Being usually quite frugal with money even I thought this experience was worth every cent. Will definitely come back again for an occasional treat. Only one observation, however - the service was excellent (save from a manager-looking lady who could use more smiles) - though I could not help but agree there may be a tinge of racial prejudice?
