This was a rather good deal since it included a beer and I always feel beer goes well with yakitori. Anyways, the ox tongue was the best by far, very well seasoned and grilled to perfection while preserving the unique texture of the ox tongue.

Other skewers I tried include: Mushroom, Bean curd, Goose liver, Green asparagus wrapped w/ bacon, Pork neck meat, and sweet corn. All the prices for the skewers were for a pair (2 skewers) except for the exceptionally expensive items. The skewers that stood out: green asparagus wrapped w/ bacon which had generous juicy baby asparagus lined up with grilled bacon wrapped on each one; the goose liver was also done well - like grilled foie gras, however bit pricey since it was $90 for 1 skewer; the corn was also grilled oiled up with butter (yum!
)

Also ordered a cold udon - the one where you dip with the udon sauce. Udon came sprinkled with dry seaweed and sesame seeds. Nice serving of carbs to pair with yakitori. However, I really wanted those stir fry udon - but they don't have it until late night...why not? They should really change that to give customers more menu range!

Service: the usual. they charged $20 for the "fresh vegetable salad" (the appetizer cabbage, some cucumber, carrot, radish) they give you in the start..... what cheapos - other yakitori places i've been to don't charge for that.....

Decor: Limited seating, so definitely make a reservation or else you'll waste your trip all the way out to Happy Valley (cabfare!). Tables and seats are small - so its very tight and not that comfortable. Also, they need to turn up the air conditioning - I was uncomfortably hot/sweating during most of the meal. They should realise since its yakitori - they are doing the grilling out where people are dining - so that creates more heat!

Sizing it up: I ended spending $600 for 2 people - which is pretty expensive for yakitori. I must admit this joint's food quality is very good, but not so outstandingly unique to other places that it justifies the $300 per person! Plus, it wasn't great decor or a comfortable place to sit and chat longer. Its more of a place to grab a snack with a beer like the yakitori special $88 since going for dinner is overpriced. I'd suggest going late night and get the 50% off skewers which make it really good value!

Don't take big groups because the place is tiny!!! I also found out that if you come after 11:00pm, the sticks are at half price! That's better value.

I seldom comment on the service of waiters as I believe if you are polite to others, others will be polite to you. I have not encountered any bad experience worth mentioning. But this one is quite exceptional:I've been here about three to four times as my friends insisted in doing so. The service is acceptable when there aren't many customers. The attitude of a male waiter there is particularily bad.

I went there about a week ago to meet with some friends. It was a table for 4 persons. I was the 5th one and last to arrive. I simple needed a chair to sit on, a plate and a pair of chop sticks. chopstick

After standing there for about a minute. I turned to the male waiter immediately behind me and asked for a chair. He muttered something which I can't hear. So I ask him again just to confirm. This time round, he said, in a rude manner, ' Wait!' (你等陣先啦!) So I just stood there in front of my friend's table for another 5 minutes and the chair is still not forthcoming. I started to wonder whether I've gone into a Spanish Tapas bar (where the customers stand) by mistake!

After that, he brought me some kind of folding chair where you find in 'Dai Pai Dong' - when there is actually another free chair around the corner. So I just pushed the folding chair away and took the wooden chair myself.

Perhaps sensing the 'heat', a female waitress came over an offered to switch us to a bigger table (finally). Her attitude was much better. The male waiter also became more timid after that.

If there is one thing I've noticed about occasional bad services in Hong Kong, it's that you have to give them a piece of your mind sometimes. Oddly, their attitude will become much better. Human nature...?

Foodwise, it's fine. But a bit expensive for the quality.

Nan Tei ’南亭’ is by far the better choice.

是晚同朋友一齊去成日去開嘅燒鳥亭到食串燒!一座低就叫左set 啤酒嚟飲(因為買二送一),之後就開始叫野食啦!第一round叫左雞亦、雞軟骨、雞皮、牛舌、青椒仔同銀杏嚟送酒!之後第二round就叫左安格斯牛肉、露筍豬肉卷、羊扒(佢地做緊七折)同鵝肝,安格斯牛肉同羊扒燒得好香,一d都唔"un",肉汁豐富!鵝肝又係燒得好香、外脆內軟,無得頂到最後一round,因為已經好飽,所以正係叫左粟米作結,但係粟米燒得超香同好甜,當甜品食都ok今餐又係好滿足嘅一餐雖然呢度地方細,D串燒係大路野,但係串燒比其他地方燒得好味、個feel又幾好,所以我地都成日去呢到開餐

星期二晚同一個朋友去,唔算好多人,但間鋪勁細,老實講就唔係坐得好舒服!其實我哋兩個人都叫做叫咗好多嘢食。不過我就唔打算續一去講,因為有d真係無乜特別。鵝肝---- 一串$90,份量都ok,都燒得外脆內軟,不過裏面就過生,再熟一d會好d。安格斯牛--- 牛肉本身都幾好,軟又多汁,但呢個就燒得過熟,是熟了101%!總括來說,唔差,但燒烤技巧有空間再進步。

好好味的爐端燒。星期一明顯無weekend 咁逼人,唔洗等位之餘,HSBC和DBS信用卡仲有九折,啤酒又買二送一,食得好開心! 串燒每款兩串起,點了雞肉軟骨串、雞腎、鵝肝、牛舌、生蠔、白鱔、燒肉車里茄、燒飯團及蒜頭。全部都好好味,材料新鮮,燒得剛好一點也不會乾。雞肉軟骨串充滿肉汁,加上脆脆的軟骨,好味。雞腎和牛舌燒得剛剛好,有咬口得來一點也不硬,加上天然海鹽,好好味。鵝肝好正,入口即溶,食既時侯開心到笑出來。燒生蠔很肥美,燒得剛好不會太熟,咬下去時D汁湧出來,好好好味。白鱔的肉很甜,皮燒得很脆,好好好好味。煙肉車里茄吃的時後要很小心,因為車里茄很多汁,要小心辣口。這裡地方不大,但逼逼地吃爐端燒,不是更有氣氛嗎。

燒雞翼, 我鍾意食!!!!: 真係好正, encore左三輪, 好香口, 好夠味!!
雞肉大葱串: 今次真係麻麻地, 有D雪藏味
黑豚肉洋葱串: 還可以, 有小小肥, 不過唔算好特別, 反而洋葱幾好!!
免治雞肉串: 免治雞肉同雞軟骨攪埋一齊燒, 好香口同幾有口感, 味道適中, 又ENCORE左!
汁燒白菌: 正常, 幾好
芝士翠玉瓜: 妹妹至愛, 不過我覺得有小小怪, 好似唔係好MATCH...
燒粟米: 好正!! 好甜同好香牛油味!

呢間嘢, 好細, 坐得好逼, 環境好嘈, 服務麻麻, 不過呢度唔係酒店, 唔係高級餐廳, 食物好就夠啦! 價錢係唔平, 不過佢D嘢真係好食! 要求服務好, AMBIANCE正, 千其唔好去.

同事推介 之前都係openrice 度睇過d食評.個個comment都係話好… 終於一個星期六的晚上來食晚餐.餐廳內都9成滿人客好嘈好迫略為油煙 張臺好細張 2個都坐得好辛苦 張臺窄到連擺雜誌ge位都冇 可能咁樣叫居酒屋feel 串燒味道唔錯熱辣辣.不過都係普通野.不過似自家料理.呢間餐廳d服務麻麻地 收費好貴呀唔係好值喇 而我最鍾忒就係 安格斯牛柳 .羊扒

而我最鍾忒就係 安格斯牛柳 .羊扒. .露筍豬肉卷.燒蠔.雞翼食唔到雞腎有點失望

再來再來,雞皮(不是很好味,只是很脆的片),安格斯牛柳(燒得剛剛好),鱔片。
收費也不便宜呀,吃了不多,埋單也要差不多$600呀!

p.s 這間店原來開6點,等我兩點幾打去book無人聽以為無開,哈哈!

其實今次去食, 係因為食附近d 嘢食到悶, 而朋友佢之前聽過人介紹話好正, 所以我地2個就係抱住"睇下有幾正"既心態去食既。前菜係一碗仔生既椰菜, 紅蘿蔔之類, 望落去乾乾地, 唔係特別新鮮, 不過點左個特製醬食就變得味道幾特別。食第一道燒鰻魚, 好咸。第二道雞軟骨, 好咸。第三道牛舌, 好咸。如此類推。佢地用黎做賣點既日本海鹽完全派唔上用場。明太子雞柳有新鮮感, 因為食落先發覺雞肉上面既明太子醬係凍既, 而雞肉係熱既, 有強烈對比, 咬時bok bok 聲咁。不過咬完bok bok 明太子之後既味道就無特別喇, 係燒雞咁味囉。angus牛柳印象就幾深刻, 因為個樣麻麻地吸引, 但係食落口就外熱內軟, 唔"un"無渣, 有肉汁。洋蔥生牛肉就....唔得囉。肉質"鞋", 洋蔥味太甜, com 晒d 牛肉味(如果本身d 牛肉有味既話), 仲要有唔知係汁定係血水浸住水汪汪咁。不過都唔差得過個燒日本ladies finger, 我鍾意ladies finger 既最大原因係裡面chi chi lup lup 既嘢, 不過俾佢燒一燒, 就乾晒柴。鵝肝就一般, 不過不失, 但係一路食就一路覺得鵝肝

鵝肝就一般, 不過不失, 但係一路食就一路覺得鵝肝下面爭咁舊飯。因為縱使燒左, 塊肝都仍然係太膩。不過我估就算用黎做鵝肝壽司, 都應該唔夠好, 因為個面唔係用炙壽司d gas燒, 而係用炭燒。
講到炭燒, 唯一覺得有特色既就係間鋪好有炭燒氣氛, 仲有, 個炭燒粟米係幾好味既。
總結係, 用呢個質素既食材做燒鳥料理....唔駛咁貴吓嘛..?!
