Dinner with JapLover. Rang the bell. Japanese server opened the wooden door and we stepped into a small space with 2 tables and a bar counter seating 8. Apparently it used to operate on a Members’ Only system, but is now open to public. Brightly lit with some natural wood accents.Server recommended these non-sake options.Food menu was actually from Nojo next door. Here’s what we had. Salad with a refreshing blend of silky Tofu, creamy Avocado and a sesame cream dressing. Kurosatsuma Chicken Breast slices, perfectly seared, retaining a juicy, subtly sweet tenderness; complemented by chopped spring onions and fried shallots.Steamed Clams infused with the gentle warmth of sake. Clams could have been more plump tho.Soft Squid Tempura cooked to a delicate, feather-light crispness; the sake-infused batter added a depth of flavor.Japanese Pork Skewer grilled to perfection, with a lovely caramelized exterior and a juicy, flavorful interior.Ochazuke with tender crab meat and briny salmon roe served with dashi broth.Sweet Potato baked till soft and creamy (so yummy), served with melting Matcha Ice Cream. In summary: gem of a Japanese bar.

Make sure you give it a try to ring the bell or at least knock on the door, because this bar does not have an obvious sign. It's a membership bar, but anyone is welcome if there is seats available. You can become their member and enjoy their benefits such as discount on retail shopping and some more that are going to be announced soon. Have visited several times, with a group of 2-3 people to 7-8 people. This place is suitable for sole visitor, couple, with a few friends and also for big groups as they have 2 tables, one for 2-3 people and one for 5-6 people and 8ish counter seats. Minimum charge is $200, reasonable for a cosy bar in this area. They have their unique selection of sake of good 20-30 labels from which the staffs are happy to help you find the one for you. Or you can try their tasting sets to start with and tell them which one you liked so that they will have better idea of what to recommend you. They also have draught beer from Asahi which is made in Japan and sent directly from Japan, which is rare to find in HK.

It is located in a quiet area away from the hustle and bustle of Central. The entrance of the restaurant is a wooden door and the sign is not obvious, so it might be a little difficult to find, but it was like a hideout, which is quite nice. They have really nice atmosphere, and music. There're two tables (big one for 5-6 pax and small one for 2-3 pax) and about eight seats at the counter. There is a wide choice of Sake, but there's a sake sommelier who will help you choose the right sake to go with your food.
