To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 向來喜歡試新餐廳的我,對於家附近新近開張的太興燒味有一定期望。由於居住、讀書和工作的地方附近都沒有太興,一直對於這名店都是久仰大名。不時都有朋友特地跨區都要找太興吃飯,令我對這餐廳期望更高。位於馬鞍山廣場三樓的這間太興燒味在三月中旬開業,明知新店總是多人光顧,於是我遲了整整一個月才和媽媽一起去吃我們的第一餐太興。先說店面設計,其實挺不錯的。等入座的和等外賣的各有等候區,外賣櫃位更有專人主理,不會混亂。走廊比其他餐廳寬闊,即使路旁泊了一部輪椅,身形胖胖的我也可以和媽媽並排走過。入單電腦旁都預留了位置給店員,他們不用為工作而阻礙通道。桌下的暗格放有餐具,亦令店員的工作輕省了不少。別說我歧視,一眼便知道大半的店員都是智障或精神病康復者等弱勢社群。我支持企業聘用弱勢社群,但大家都知道,這類店員需要比較多指導和提醒,才能有一如常人的服務表現。但環顧店內,「健康」店員看來只有四、五人,弱勢社群店員卻有十多人。別說能否指導同事,這批「健康」店員甚至連為同事執漏也忙個不停。至於這批「健康」店員是否真的服務優良?或許大家可以看看這張單據,我從沒想過在客人沒有特別指示下,小菜套餐的白飯是要叫起而不是跟小菜

至於這批「健康」店員是否真的服務優良?或許大家可以看看這張單據,我從沒想過在客人沒有特別指示下,小菜套餐的白飯是要叫起而不是跟小菜送上的。我們的小菜來到後,我們先後找了三位侍應幫忙。等了二十分鐘,白飯才來到我們的桌上,可是小菜已經涼了。
說得公平一點,這裡的小菜其實挺好吃的。

以這個菠蘿咕嚕肉為例,菜一送到我們便試吃了,食飯夠熱,火喉不錯,味道也比附近的中式小菜館好。

又說說這個豬潤啫啫雞煲,雖然所用的製法並不是「啫啫」(將食物及薑蔥放入燒至極熱的煲內烹調),但本身煮食的鑊氣夠,即使煲不夠熱,味道還算不錯。
