To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 今日賠老人家往黃大仙,早一天於黃大仙富臨訂了一乳豬及雞一隻中午12點取,一早來到酒樓打算先飲茶,這裡的取位方法非常有趣,服務員先後比兩張枱我地,行到入去都已經有人坐咗,要個老人家行來行去,最後服務員請坐枱沒票人客離開!飲完茶十二點埋單兼去櫃檯要求取乳豬,當時收銀叫我企旁邊等,等咗十分鐘後再問收銀,收銀完全唔理,走去一位事後經查問才知姓陳穿西裝的男(部長?),回覆:等陣拎緊出嚟!再等咗十分鐘再追問同一位部長,我稱有老人家在門口等緊,可否幫我再追一追,佢竟然望也不望我話隻乳豬燒緊,燒完會拎出嚟㗎喇,就轉身行咗去!當時已經開始火滾,隻乳豬係一早一日訂,有乜可能現在燒緊,再過多五分鐘實在忍唔住再追這位部長問佢話乳豬燒緊,咁要燒幾耐我要究竟要等幾耐,佢竟然答我:我唔知喎,唔係我燒,我唔知要燒幾耐等幾耐!一個顧客畀咗錢消費,得到咁嘅服務態度回答,乜嘢人都火滾啦!實在忍唔住要問佢名同一定要投訴!今時今日香港就係有呢啲咁嘅服務員,令到香港飲食業點解咁差!
