To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 今日一行三人去飲早茶,入到酒樓侍應已經唔算少,但招左十分鐘手先有人開茶,每個侍應都扮睇唔到。開完茶梗係劃點心啦,有個所謂副經理收左張點心紙,我地11:10落單,等左半個鐘都未有野食,結果到11:45摧單既時候先話冇落單,但係早茶優惠係要12點前埋單。我地追問果位所謂副經理既時候,佢竟然同我地講左句「冇落單咪冇落單囉!」態度極為惡劣,做錯事唔單止唔道歉,仲要搵下屬黎陪罪,唔敢承認錯誤,面對顧客,企圖送碗紫米露了事,身為經理簡直不負責任。我明白忙中有錯等屬閒事,但身為負責人竟然連基本待客既禮貌都唔識,仲要呼喝客人,呢種係待客之道咩?見過鬼真係怕黑,我以後都唔會再去食,廢事食到一肚火。
