Restaurant: Three Virtues Vegetarian Restaurant (Kiu Kwan Mansion)

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 2003年,三德素食館在北角僑冠大廈一樓開業,而僑冠大廈至今亦有近五十年歷史,連同毗鄰的華豐國貨、商務印書局,遠些的新光戲院、新都城百貨,還有被時光遺忘得乾乾淨淨的北角邨、明園遊樂場等等⋯⋯它們都為北角街坊留下過幾多五光十色的夢幻泡影。而我,就念念不忘那條曾經滄海的名園西街。每次到三德,總會勾起一些伶人往事。嘩!講尼啲⋯⋯ 講番正經,當晚weekend八時多到達,立刻有位。因為超肚餓,叫了一碟酸齋,食咗先講。之後點了兩位套餐,包一羹兩菜送甜品。選了: 竹笙冬茸粟米羹、五柳仙班、麵醬什菜素魷絲。另加一碗白飯。先說單點的酸齋,份量足秤,入口彈牙,起初偏淡,但後來覺得酸味入口自然而溫和適中,是開胃之選。竹笙冬茸粟米羹,用料份量絕不吝嗇,勾芡稠度準確,惟一人只有一小碗,份量偏少。五柳仙班,是炸魚形芋泥。其中芋泥弄得幼滑軟綿而水份適中,佐以帶酸又帶甜的五柳醬汁,正。不過,可能在上桌前放久了,炸的外層已經不很脆了,也不夠熱。但亦不失為不錯的出品。麵醬什菜素魷絲,質和量並重,菜款平均,當日執碼功不可沒,這也是我常說的細節。素魷絲的主要成分相信是蒟蒻,也俗稱魔芋,有謂蒟蒻是胃腸的清道夫,大家不妨試試。

麵醬什菜素魷絲,質和量並重,菜款平均,當日執碼功不可沒,這也是我常說的細節。素魷絲的主要成分相信是蒟蒻,也俗稱魔芋,有謂蒟蒻是胃腸的清道夫,大家不妨試試。蒟蒻本身味道不顯,主要靠外物調味。所以,麵醬的味道令我最注意,因為麵醬是此道菜的味道靈魂。但美中不足,這一次麵醬的味道未能沾合在每條菜和每條素魷絲上,我索性把菜或素魷連同一兩粒麵豉一起入口以吊吊那香味,又okay喎!

甜品,是紫米西米露。
