鼎泰豐在銅鑼灣開業已久,但未曾造訪過一次,主要原因是人潮擁擠,需要輪候良久才能入座。現在餐廳拿下車軚人一星榮譽,人流更多。在年近歳晚的週五夜,維園年宵進行得如火如荼,附近餐廳也排得滿滿。既然無可避免都要等,就一於試試這間星星餐廳。點了數碟前菜冷盤,包括有蘿蔔絲拌海蜇皮、涼拌黑木耳、原味水晶肉及蒜香粉皮肉。要數最可口的冷盤是涼拌黑木耳,酸爽開胃。蘿蔔絲拌海蜇皮同樣脆口,但味道很淡。至於原味水晶肉及蒜香粉皮肉,兩者肉質勻粗鞋,食感一般。點心小點先試招牌小籠包及雞肉小籠包。兩款小籠包的外皮製作確是夠薄,夾起亦不易散爛。傳統小籠包以豬肉作餡,口感明顯不夠細滑,湯汁不足。相比之下,雞肉小籠包更油香嫩口,湯汁更豐,水準較佳。其餘點心小吃如上海燻黃花魚、菜肉紅油抄手、香菇素餃、香菇素包等等驚喜欠奉。唯一值推的是雞絲蝦仁春卷,香脆可口,膩感不重,好吃!筆者喜愛油麥茶,但這道蒜蓉油麥菜郤令筆者有點失望,以清水炙煮,但以蒜蓉提味,效果事倍功半。主食排骨蛋炒飯,排骨是台式酥香口味,配上蛋香不俗的飯底。台式擔擔撈麵麵質口感普通,建議追加多一點惹味的花生麻醬更合筆者口味!餐中除一般茶水外,亦點了兩杯熱豆漿,甜度

整體而言,餐廳的食品可口接受,但未算出色,更難言有星星質素,感覺上有點名過其實。
