To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 大伙兒一同飲茶是一件樂事,適逢聖誕佳節,便相約一班朋友到翠園飲茶。叉燒腸粉-腸粉雪白滑溜溜,叉燒肉滑。鮑汁炆鳳爪-以小砂煲上,鳳爪炆煮得很冧,入味。菩提素鴨方-素鴨用鹵汁煮得好冧,甜甜軟軟的腐皮超好吃蜆芥鯪魚球-用炸過的米粉裝著鯪魚球,賣相一流。外皮有點乾身,但整體來吃味道還可以。菠蘿焗餐包 -真的是菠蘿包,包子的皮鬆脆,內餡是熱騰騰的菠蘿蓉。臘味糯米飯- 色澤一般,臘味份量較少,香味欠奉。醬油安格斯牛肉炒飯- 幸好加了一個炒飯,這個炒飯比糯米飯出色很多,飯粒用醬油炒得乾身分明,飯面上松子仁更是亮點,為炒飯增添香味。椒鹽魷魚鬚 - 以小鑊仔上桌,如果配上金蒜粒會更好吃。
