To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 昨晚到朝庭吃晚飯,慨嘆美心集團的食物水準每況愈下。所點的菜平平無奇,其中滷水鵝拼盤不知所謂,收四百幾蚊一碟,但俾嘅只得鵝片三兩塊,其餘係碎濕濕的鵝掌翼幾塊要潤同埋豆腐。早知要鵝片好過至於沙嗲牛肉炒芥蘭,芥蘭切成一片片,難以上大枱。好嘞,到埋單時,長長的一張單,包括七八個餸,酒水再加埋茶錢,差唔多成尺長。不以為意就簽卡找數。其中一個朋友小心眼,睇吓張單,發現有一味紅棗糕收費$168 ,係外賣。但冇叫過有冇見外賣袋送上。即刻問夥記點解,佢吱唔以對,然後話唔好意思,即刻去改返正佢。這種行為,估唔到美心這麼大的一個機構,也會做出這些欺騙客人的可恥行為。我認為收多錢,絕對唔會落到啲夥計嘅袋,咁會唔會係酒樓主管為咗做大每日嘅營業額,如是做出呢啲咁嘅手段。奉勸大家千祈唔好唔睇單就俾錢。尤其是一班朋友,掛住傾偈唔查真啲就俾錢。或者招呼朋友同客人,唔好意思查單。咁就你酒楼呃咗都唔知。
