To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 「喝茶,如今是中外人士都喜好的習慣,甚至乎英國有著名的紅茶,還可泡成美味奶茶。日本人注重茶道;中國人則享受品茗的功夫茶,注重泡茶的水與溫度,目的求取茶的色香味濃。

大家可否知道茶與人類有莫大的關聯和高深的學問。原來紅茶包也是綠茶發酵而成的。綠茶對人體有益且能禦防基因改變達到防禦癌腫,又能在人體可作排毒利尿功用。綠茶含茶多酚與抗氧化物質。一直以來很多科學研究者指茶葉中的茶多酚是有益的物質可改善血液流動,有助預防冠心病,心絞痛,是最佳防禦心臟病的飲料。

近代有營養學家發現茶葉有消脂減肥、改善人體免儲存過多的脂質代謝。不過亦有學者發現香港人喜好飲奶茶,即紅茶加奶。原來奶茶對人體健康無益,雖然上面提到茶多酚是抗氧化作用,但是紅茶加奶,會導致紅茶內原有抗氧化物質失去效用,不但不能抑制自由基增生反為使血管不能放鬆而使血管收縮。如果日飲三至四杯奶茶,便會浪費良好的資源。多喝奶茶更易患上腎結石、膽石與膀胱結石。
