Restaurant: The 5B Private Corner

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 工廈用途的多元化轉變早已不是甚麼新鮮事,由走文化藝術路線的火炭工廈,再到年初有雜誌出特刊介紹觀塘工廈的吃喝玩樂,走進工廈越來越見普及。不過,小弟工作的荃灣工廈區卻沒有主題特色,有的只是各種興趣班的課室,吃也只是工廈食堂。即至上月新開了一家Café……這天走進工廈登上五樓,為的是新開The 5B。汲取了上一次教訓,這次我們早一天訂座,終於有機會一試這家為公司附近帶來新鮮感的食店。踏進店內的玄關,黑板上手寫的Lunch Menu跟上一回摸門釘之時已截然不同。小店要保持新鮮感,講求的就是一個「變」字。牆身只輕髹了一層白色漆油,配搭木色傢具及用木板自製的層架,陽光照射下更添一份柔和溫暖。有別於同區那些手肘碰手肘的餐廳或食堂,這裡的空間感來得十足。空間寬敞是工廈的保證,惟小店只設約40個座位,即使座無虛席也不失舒適。除了2人及4人桌,餐廳中心特設一張供十人使用的長桌,適合大夥兒來小聚一番。若然想獨自嘆一口咖啡,靠窗的吧桌會是挺好的選擇。雖然面前是車來車往的天橋,但遠眺藍巴勒海峽及青衣,構圖也別有一番韻味。等待午餐的時候,先嚐嚐餐湯及麵包。烘過的多士微暖之中吃出鬆脆,塗了牛油後更為惹味。雜菜湯的配

論環境,小店的寬敞及簡潔算是附近工廈區的一股清泉。然而論食物,質素似乎仍有很大的進步空間。不過離開小店前,看到一部有需要者可免費取走的多合一打印機,這種予人方便之舉,卻很值得欣賞。
