To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 年初一慣例跟眾多親友先到酒樓飲茶後拜年,知道喜慶日子食客必定多,所以親友已事先訂位。我們準時入座,被安排到較暗且焗的位置,甫入座,長輩已開始埋怨… 事不宜遲,飲茶當然要先叫點心!我們叫了多款點心,例如水晶奶黃包、黑椒蒸鳳爪、高湯鮮竹卷等,鳳爪調味太辣。當中較喜歡千層馬拉糕(左上),黃色的鬆糕結合了千層糕及馬拉糕的特色,鬆軟熱辣,中間的蛋漿很甜夠滑,不俗;另外,第一次吃千層腐皮夾(右下),一層層的腐皮疊在一起,軟腍入味。茶樓經典點心之一的蜜汁叉燒包。同樣新鮮蒸起,輕輕撕開鬆軟潔白的麵包,熱烘烘,幸好我不怕熱呢~中間的叉燒餡料非常足料,香甜多汁,好吃~其他還有蜜汁叉燒腸粉、四寶滑雞扎之類,又叫了肉絲炒麵。很久沒有吃過,以大碟盛上的炒麵賣相似鳥巢,外邊的炒麵炸得香脆,中間的麵條上放有豬肉絲及芽菜,澆上芡汁,致使麵質變軟腍,是懷念的味道。整體各款點心味道有驚喜,全部新鮮蒸起,值得一讚。然而當天因店員送餐的出錯,使我們的點心久久未能送到,約一小時前落的單在再三催促後終於送上,原來是店員將枱號調亂所致,即使食物不俗仍難以彌補這人為過失破壞的用餐心情,長輩更因此先行離場!不過明白當天為年初一,運作上
