To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 今次到我請客,年青的部長熱誠的幫手寫菜,經仔細研究之下,決定把原來提供的例牌菜單一改再改,價錢一改又改,也無不快,服務精神可嘉.卒之點了:乳豬拼盤,白灼蝦斤半,帶子花枝炒西芹,燒鵝一隻,貴妃鷄一隻,粟米魚肚羮,清蒸大海杉斑,鹹肉白菜仔.全晚最滿意的是那海斑,火侯剛好,汁液好味,不是用養魚,因肉質爽滑,有魚味.燒鵝是一往的滿意,有熱度,件頭大,皮脆肉滑,我認為比鏞記還好.貴妃鷄水準保持,入味和香滑,有肉汁.當晚最搶手的,一掃而空的反為是鹹肉白菜仔,用上海鹹肉的湯來煮,十分淋滑入味.其他的菜色也交足貨,並無欺場,服務也勤快,主客皆悅.值得一提的是禁煙令行將推出之際,煙味的確大大減少,否則這裡的環境可以甚差.也可算政府的德政.
