To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 話說呢間酒樓早茶時段係無人帶位,要自己搵位的。好啦,咁我帶住個BB自己走去搵位。當時酒樓坐咗大約六成嘅枱,即係仲有四成枱係吉嘅。咁我就搵咗張最細嘅四人枱坐。執枱嗰個阿姐問我幾多位,我話一位,佢即刻一句得埋黎話一位唔可以坐吉枱,一定要搭枱。(我心諗:BB都係人,佢都需要一個座位。有乜理由因為我比一個茶錢就逼我搭枱姐。你有四成吉枱㗎阿姐)隔離執枱嗰個阿姐聽到即刻話,你坐啦,而家冇乜人,隨便坐,陣間人多啲先可能有人會搭枱。呢啲先係人講嘅說話!你間酒樓又唔係好爆棚,有成四成吉枱都唔俾人坐!好啦總算坐低左啦。但點知食到一半,我想去攞個兜坐熱啲奶比BB飲,同一個阿姐又走來話我。你唔好嘥我啲野,呢度係要搭枱㗎,你將啲嘢擺番埋啲。{佢講嗰啲嘢係佢哋酒樓碟腸粉。碟腸粉唔係我擺個囉!係酒樓傳菜阿姐擺個囉!}(我心諗:嘩!乜你咁講嘢㗎!乜嘢叫做嘥你啲嘢啊?首先,酒樓啲嘢唔係你架!然後,乜個兜用完會即棄㗎咩?你哋唔會洗返嚟再用㗎咩?點樣先叫做嘥呀?)食到一肚氣!
