To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 今天一大清早送媽媽到機場,所以我們出門前都沒吃早餐。在櫃位行李寄存後,媽媽建議吃翠華餐廳早餐,吃畢她就直接入閘等待上機。我們超幸運不用等位就可入座,時間關係我們馬上下單。我選了帶子火腿粒通粉配香煎太陽蛋及牛油餐包,帶子火腿粒通粉味道比我預期中清淡,湯沒有甚麼味道。在好的方面來說這通粉很健康,不過我略嫌通粉稍為軟腍,素來個人不愛軟綿綿的麵食。香煎太陽蛋煎得不俗,蛋白部份焦度剛好,水汪汪的蛋黃份外誘人,我於心不忍將蛋黃刺穿,直接放進口裡。牛油餐包烤得脆脆的,放了一會,塗上牛油仍有脆度。至於媽媽則吃沙嗲牛肉即食麵配櫻花蝦炒蛋和迷你豬仔包,媽媽覺得沙嗲牛肉即食麵入口死鹹,吃後非常口渴,說應該放了不少味精。媽媽將櫻花蝦炒蛋放在迷你豬仔包上一同品嚐,炒蛋炒得蠻細滑的,可惜櫻花蝦味道不顯現,可能份量少的關係,如多一點櫻花蝦會更好。
