To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 放假和媽媽去酒樓嘆吓茶先。午飯時間去到,已9成滿坐,被安排坐在廳房,環境清靜舒適,啱晒怕嘈嘅我。叫咗媽媽最愛的健康高纖紅米炒飯:白米紅米各半,飯粒分明,配上菜粒、青蔥、香菇同炒,最後放上大量松子仁和香脆的蜜糖合桃,豐富的口感。肚餓了,選擇困難症的人乾脆點了一個蒸的點心拼盤:蝦餃燒賣各3隻,蝦餃皮算不上薄,但蝦肉爽。燒賣蝦、肉比例剛好。還有黑松露野菌素菜蒸包和鮮蝦菜苗餃各2隻,素菜包大大個,滿滿的餡料,沒有最憎的芡汁,入口爽脆清新。菜苗餃正正常常,是蝦和菜混在一起的。另加一客灌湯小籠包:皮薄,湯汁清,不油不濁,熱辣辣,配上薑絲和醋,好味。今日負責廳房的女服務員很有禮貌,加水、收碟等都得勤快,值得一讚👍🏻
