To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 尋晚慶祝阿婆生日,之前黎開上手個間東翡翠,食物質素唔錯既,但唔知點解近來執左,開左呢間富臨皇宮,因為阿婆年紀大行動不便,所以近近地都要黎食。叫得皇宮,裝修係有返咁上下,水晶吊燈淺花色牆紙,叫做光猛舒服。因為套餐唔太岩食,所以散叫,各檯自己叫自己既菜,我地叫左半隻燒鵝、半隻雞、生炒骨、班腩煲、沙薑雞腳、滷水鵝翼、薑汁芥蘭、蝦煲、其他唔係好記得啦。大部份食物質素好普通,雞同鵝都過咸,芥蘭一d薑汁味都無,最離譜個班腩煲,無汁整熟再係咁易淋左少少汁係面,完全唔平均,有D有汁有D又無,晒曬。服務可能新開,唔叫唔做,侍應部長成日係客面前嘈,最後個知客走埋黎問D野得唔得,我地照直講太咸,佢居然唔係話會改善,而係話成場得你地話D野食咸咋喎,講到我地老屈佢咁,又要扮聽意見,又要唔認衰,呢餐雖然我剩係黎食唔使比錢,但質素咁差下年真係去遠少少都唔會再黎。
