To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 自從會自己煮飯之後,其實都比較少去酒樓食晚飯,因為覺得自己係屋企煮啲家常小菜,性價比高,又冇味精,仲健康啲!所以有時候對中菜要求其實又真係會高啲。最近同屋企人去食美心皇宮,冇咩期望,叫左五樣野,都係啲功夫比較多既餸 (感覺上覺得抵啲,哈哈)!蟹肉薏米燴金瓜 - 好食!南瓜的軟度剛剛好!可以偷師,自己係屋企研究下,可以用其他食材取代蟹肉同薏米,哈哈。生煎蓮藕餅 - 好 standard ,不過平時係屋企懶,所以出街食呢個餸最好。四季荷葉飯 - 足料!豉汁蒸鱔 - 自己買要買一大條,一餐食唔曬,所以都係出街食啦!菜膽雞 - 全晚最一般的餸!傳統中菜,不過不失。
