To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 昨天證件辦不了,看見時間尚早,心血來潮想飲茶,但平日最愛的新斗記卻因太早仍未營業,美心皇宮人滿為患,最後去了V City的八月飲茶,不過我也等了25分鐘才可入座。我不想這麼熱氣,故只點蒸或湯煮的點心,我總共點了四款點心,包括紫菜上湯雲吞,筍尖鮮蝦餃,甫魚滑燒賣和蜜汁叉燒腸粉,不過四籠點心太多,我只吃到三籠,一籠外帶上班吃。蜜汁叉燒腸沒有預期的滑溜,腸粉皮極度厚身,完全不符合腸粉最低的基本要求,唯一可取是蜜汁叉燒份量多,叉燒肥瘦得宜,甜滋滋的,具蜜汁效果。紫菜上湯雲吞一碗大約六顆還是七顆,我都忘了,雲吞一口可吃,皮不薄不厚,肉餡調味不均勻,首兩顆味道死鹹,隨後卻淡而無味,極大偏差。筍尖鮮蝦餃晶瑩度一般,不過看起來挺飽滿,而且蝦隻完整的一大尾,蝦肉爽口彈牙,可惜嚐不到鮮蝦味,只有濃重的胡椒味,尤其冷卻後更顯現,應該蝦隻不是鮮蝦才以胡椒粉欲蓋彌彰。甫魚滑燒賣是四款點心當中比較正常的一款,肥美的蝦仁鋪在燒賣上,好不搶眼,蝦的味道不用再形容,剛才已說,反而燒賣的豬肉配料頗有肉味,肉質扎實帶點彈性,可以令人接受。
