To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 之前去過這間酒樓,也記不起詳細內容,總之就是不好,很久沒有再去。那天行經市中央廣場,見很久沒光顧,希望有所改變,倆人便進去晚膳。不太餓,叫了一個羊腩煲,差不多300元一煲,應該不會用羊肉代羊腩吧!結果又給坑了,全是羊背、羊腿,也沒有炆過就端上來。在枱上煮多半小時也咬不開。配料也找不到馬蹄和筍,衹有大大塊的粉葛。結賬三百六十多元⋯一個羊肉煲!連白飯飲品也沒有點!在疫情下,有些有份量的餐廳酒樓還是其門如市。他們堅持用好的食材,不欺客,才能經得起汰弱留強的自然規律!
