To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 昨天剛在觀塘太興吃過下午茶,今天午飯時候又再次光顧將軍澳太興。小時候總以認為只有「麻甩佬」才喜歡吃X寶飯,時光荏苒,不知不覺間我已經去到「麻甩佬」的層次。而且,以前不過是四寶、五寶,今時今日,已經升級到八寶的高度!不過太興的八寶飯實在是太出色了!人家的X寶通常只給半邊的咸蛋,這裡的八寶居然還有兩個半邊咸蛋,這才算一寶!而另外七寶是切雞、燒鵝、叉燒、燒肉、燻蹄、墨魚、紅腸,太興的燒味一向水準不俗,這個八寶飯真的一級捧!用料足,味道好!
