To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 週四舅仔請食飯,話去北京樓。我話食填鴨不如去鹿嗚春,但佢係馬來西亞華僑,吾知歷史,只係想有好d環境同裝飾,我反對無效,而且又吾係我俾錢,於是shut up。禮拜四北京樓座無虛席,都幾迫挾。我睇遊客佔左七成,剩低d我睇都係本地人帶d外地朋友或親戚黎。記得大約一年前都冇咁犀利,但都知道d制作吾會好。北京樓毋需保持高水準,因為目標客人吾識欣賞,只要比chop suey 好就ok.果然我冇全中都不遠。服待慢d,但全院爆滿,d waiters 都係人,可以忍就忍,不過service都吾係太離譜。但d野認真差。小籠包入面吾夠汁,又微溫;隻鴨廋d,凍d,d片皮一般,但生菜包鴨肉鬆就冇味。最慘係松子魚,除左好細之外,d甜酸汁好難頂,同我後生係雜碎館打工時d差吾多,或且d歐美遊客喜歡,但問題係咁樣既甜酸豆粉只會令佢地以為廣東人d甜酸水準就係咁!仲有其它好似所謂龍鳳湯羹都冇驚喜。唯一可取係d蔥爆牛肉,拉麵同甜品好d。若然要我自己俾錢,肯定吾會返轉頭。冇理由俾佢當我係遊客,明明自己係本地人。舅仔埋單時,都吾好意思問佢幾多錢,對佢荷包damage有幾大?
