To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 1月31日中午同屋企人來這裡吃團年飯, 一坐下, 侍應推介有個嘗味饗宴4人餐, 見到都幾抵食就叫了這個餐, 先來了竹笙海皇羹, 喝了一口竟然是涼的, 馬上同侍應反映, 她端走說是去加熱, 之後再上時竟只是暖的, 再想找人時發現整間餐廳只有幾個侍應全部都見不到影, 之後陸陸續續上了幾道菜, 感覺味道同以前不太一樣, 質素大幅下降, 很明顯廚房唔係即煮, 套餐有個菜式黃金大蝦, 用鹹蛋黃去炸, 都幾入味, 當時沒有留意多吃了幾件, 點知可能就此出事, 套餐包了4杯飲料, 叫了熱豆漿, 也是半冷半熱, 老人家還要加熱水才喝得下.這家餐廳可能樓面同廚房的人手少了,或換咗批員工,碟又唔換, 上甜品高力豆沙催了4-5次 差不多15分鐘才有人換乾淨的碟, 結果高力豆沙也是凍的.埋單連加一$796, 看似都幾抵結果到了晚上開始上嘔下瀉至少7-8次, 打給非同住的父母也發生同樣情況, 上嘔下瀉一直持續2天到年初二吃了腸胃藥及抗生素才見好轉, 年初一全家人再次到和平飯店反映情況, 接待我們一位自稱經理態度還十分差, 最起碼的道歉都沒有, 只是一味同我們話你們不舒服要看醫生, 完全沒有從業人員或管理人員應有
