To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 灣仔的冰室/茶餐廳似乎特別多,老牌子新開的百花齊放,食客如我倒也樂得每一家都嘗嘗,恨不得把每一家招牌菜都吃遍。吃多也嘴刁了,其中滑蛋菜式是我的最愛,也是我在衆多茶餐廳菜式中最有要求的。同事介紹這家新開在灣仔沒多久的旺記冰室。聽説超受歡迎午市排隊得很誇張,我們一衆4人特地已經提早出去,來到的時候12:45 門口大排長龍,排了大約20分鐘終於進去了。大概是午市實在太滿座,這裏用餐時間有限時30分鐘,因此我們以閃電速度點了這裡馳名的滑蛋蝦仁飯,同事則點了她的最愛番茄湯底通粉加豬仔包。滑蛋入口滑嫰、保持著應有的水準;蝦仁爽口彈牙,配合青蔥,口感清新。最值得一讚的是那個醬汁,有點像甜醬油(好像也有一點蠔油),更加襯托出蝦仁鮮味,非常有意思!試了一下同事最愛的番茄通粉(其實她是想改米粉的,如果想轉可以跟店員說)。番茄湯底酸度適中,夏天吃這個倒也挺fresh!午餐來講,旺記是茶餐廳之中不錯的選擇,價錢適中、味道也非常好
