To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 因媽媽生日,我們一家三口一同往「美心皇宮」飲茶當慶祝。職員過來落完單之後,並沒有吃早餐的我們已經餓到沒有耐性,便告知職員和部長。豈料在美心集團的酒樓竟然得到公共屋邨酒樓也未必得到的對待,呼喝我們再等一下。撇開有冇吃早餐的狀況,在酒樓飲茶,等半小時仍未有其中一項點心來到合理嗎?作為美心集團樓面職員的,對著客人追單不是應該答「我再幫你追一追」而並不是「嚟飲茶係要等吓㗎啦!」其實最不專業的,就是cashier的女職員。明明是她落漏咗訂單,卻堅持不認錯,黑著嘴臉向著我們。本來是這「美心皇宮」粉絲的我們一家,自昨天的經歷之後暫時不會再光顧。
