To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 之前同朋友喺屯門工廠區做完運動之後,又攰又肚餓,想揀個舒舒服服嘅地方坐。所以最後放棄咗喺大排檔度食小菜,上咗喺建榮工業大廈1樓嘅富臨漁港食晚飯,一入到去見到佢做緊推廣:138蚊斤阿拉斯加長腳蟹,我哋毫不猶疑就揀咗隻四斤嘅長腳蟹四個人食。仲點咗唔同嘅小菜,包括:海鮮粉絲煲,雜菜煲,東坡肉同炸豆腐等等。小菜到齊之後大概十分鐘,主角長腳蟹終於到咗喇! 職員仲好細心幫我哋將隻蟹拆開曬,等我哋篤出嚟已經可以食到啖啖肉又新鮮嘅蟹棒,食完之後真係覺得要揀者更加大嘅鞋蟹。至於啲小菜都係預期之內,唔係好好味,東坡肉得六七片薄薄咁樣,唔夠喉, 雜菜煲嘅菜亦都煮得唔夠林,粉絲海鮮煲嘅粉絲都硬硬地嘅感覺 ,下次朋友都話選擇去食番大排檔好過。。。。
